Rep. Peter King, the New York Republican who is at loggerheads with Tea Party leadersTed Cruz and Rand Paul, has started a political action committee called American Leadership Now.
King, considering a 2016 presidential run, wants to encourage the GOP to be more moderate on domestic issues while remaining hawkish on foreign policy.
King told Politico, “It’s a vehicle that will enable me to go around the country to try to find like-minded Republicans who do not support a government shutdown, who do not support Ted Cruz’s whole idea of a government shutdown, of Rand Paul being isolationist." He added, "It gives me the opportunity to campaign for ideas, not just my own congressional campaign."
A Cruz spokeswoman, Catherine Frazier, responded, “Senator Cruz remains focused on making Washington listen by protecting working people from Obamacare and getting the economy growing again. Americans don’t care about bickering among D.C. politicians.”
Sen. Paul’s staff had no comment.
According to its website, American Leadership Now “is committed to the tried and true American virtues of protecting the homeland, expanding opportunity for all citizens, and delivering a better country for the next generation.”

In other words, he likes his big bloated government. The bigger the better.

Yes. He is a leftist with a Neocon streak, giving us the worst of both worlds.

King is a buffoon. Who does he think is going to give him money? The insane?
King's PAC is just a ploy for attention to his laughable 2016 Presidential run. It won't have any effect. It's the second dumbest thing I've ever heard. Cruz just got elected a year ago. He ain't going nowhere for 5 years. By that time he too will likely be branded a traitor to conservatism. Paul got elected 3 years ago. We got us an election in 11 months.
King see all kinds of grifters making big bucks off conservatives and King thinks he can get in on the action by going after conservatives. The problem is RINOs don't throw their money after losers, except Rove.

Lovely; the circle-jerk continues unabated. Anyone bring the K-Y?
