House Democrat breaks from party, says House should vote to start impeachment inquiry
By Cristina Marcos - 10/09/19 02:03 PM EDT

Rep. John Garamendi (D-Calif.) on Wednesday said he thinks the House should hold a formal vote on launching an impeachment inquiry, contradicting Democratic leaders who argue it's unnecessary.

Garamendi, who does not serve on any of the main committees leading the impeachment inquiry, predicted the House would have the votes to launch an inquiry.

"I think it's time for us to put a vote on the floor, a resolution for the inquiry structured in such a way that it can move forward with full power of the Congress behind it," Garamendi said in an interview on "CNN Newsroom."

"That will further strengthen Congress's hand," he added.

"They want a fight, OK," Garamendi said of the White House. "Then let us arm ourselves completely and totally with the full power of Congress."

Most Americans don't want the Democrats to do Impeachment at all.   But... if they're going to do it anyway, they damned well better do it "by the book" and based on historical precedent.   If not, they will pay dearly in 2020 at the election booth.

Why should the Rats take a vote?  They're getting everything they want now, with the vocal support of Never-Trumps who call themselves Republicans.  Check out some of the threads with people giving Pelosi the high-fives for being clever enough to rig the rules in order to get rid of the Bad Orange Man.

The House will vote to Impeach without any exonerating evidence presented, and that's OK for somebody bound to get rid of Trump By Any Means Necessary.  Those folks are the smart money that's driving this bus.

The 4th and 5th Amendments do not apply to the President of the United States.  He's beneath the law.

I've been told, several times just this morning, that there's no book.  Pelosi can make up the rules as she goes along, and this is how it should be.

Today is looking like a "day drinking" kind of day.  I tapped a fresh keg last night.

You maybe right, but there have only been 3 impeachments in the last 250 years.  I could be hard to write a book on historical procedure.

Trump is proof that if voting ever changed anything, it would be made illegal.  We've done the next best thing:  Voting is pointless.

I can't agree more.  After 30 years of voting GOP every election without fail, I skipped voting in 2016 and 2018.  This year I am thinking I might be able to make America better by voting for whoever is running against President Trump, but I'm not sure I have the courage to finally abandon 30 years of f*cked up pro-GOP thinking.

I'm staking out the local offices of my new town.  Who's at the top doesn't make a damned bit of difference.
