Disgraced Hollywood producer turned convicted rapist Harvey Weinstein has tested positive for coronavirus, according to Deadline.
The Hollywood trade publication reported Sunday that “an Empire State law enforcement official†confirmed to them that Weinstein tested positive for the Chinese virus mere days after being transferred to the Wende Correctional Facility from Rikers Island in New York City.
The convicted rapist was sentenced to 23 years in prison earlier this month following his conviction on two sex charges.
Weinstein’s contraction of the virus was first reported by the Niagara Gazette on Sunday.

I am guessing he is going to be so depressed about catching a disease like this while being held in isolation in a prison that he will become downright suicidal,and probably hang himself.

I've wondered all along if all these health problems were for real, to evoke sympathy from the jurors and/or if convicted, to get the guy some nicer accommodations. This latest, supposed coronavirus diagnosis may be just the latest part of his and his lawyers' scheme. The man does not want to pay for his crime.

It was common knowledge on the internet that he was going to die somehow/some way. The only bet was how they were going to do it? Most people were betting on 'an accident', since suiciding has now become a common word in relation to anyone who was friends, worked for, or even knows the Clintons.

NEW YORK (CBSNewYork) – A spokesman tells CBS2 Harvey Weinstein was tested at Rikers Island for coronavirus and it came back negative.
Weinstein was allegedly never tested at Wende Correctional Facility in upstate New York, where it was previously reported he was positive for the virus, a spokesman said. Weinstein was moved to Wende after Rikers.
Although Weinstein was negative for coronavirus at Rikers, he was experiencing chest pains, coughs and could not walk on his own. Before being transferred to Rikers, he had treatment at Bellevue Hospital to clear a blocked artery, a spokesman said. ...

I've been telling you folks -- Harvey doesn't want to do his time, a least not in a standard prison (real prison is for peasants). If he has to serve his sentence, it's going to be in far better accommodations.
I don't believe he really is that sick or that he has been. All a ploy.

Well, he could have tested positive for the virus, but never had any symptoms. But yeah, in this case I'd say the story was fake news.
I actually thought the story came from Weinstein's representatives, but it looks like the scam came from the corrections union. Probably looking for a pay increase.
