Georgia lost 90% of their peach crop last year due to warming issues. Earlier than normal warming so trees budded out then normal freeze happened and killed all the buds. Other issues but I believe this was the major cause.

Texas is becoming a parched state. Texas ranchers are buying semi truck full loads of hay from  my area.

As you said the  northern US states will become the new breadbasket.

My sarcasm tag was simply because humans need to adapt.  This rock has had hot/cold periods.  Humans have repeatedly pushed back into "stone ages" due to extinction events.

It's probably why subterranean bipedal species are hundreds of thousands of years are more advanced than surface species.

Equatorial climates are obviously expanding, while the polar regions remain somewhat stable.

The current land mass called the United States will be the prime exporter of dates and figs.

That said, I wonder if Kammie could even get the Dem nomination.

Illegal Immigrant Arrested for Attempted Murder Committed in Brazil 35 Days After DOJ Released Him in Arizona
May 8, 2024 Tom Pappert

Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) announced on Monday the arrest of an illegal immigrant from Brazil. The agency explained the man has been wanted in Brazil for attempted murder since October 2023.

ICE additionally confirmed the man, whose identity the agency withheld, entered the United States through Arizona’s southern border and was eventually apprehended for deportation in Massachusetts. He will remain in the agency’s custody until he is removed from the country.

The agency reported that U.S. Border Patrol first encountered and apprehended the Brazilian national (pictured above) in March “after he unlawfully entered the United States near Lukeville, Arizona.”

While Border Patrol initiated removal proceedings, the U.S. Department of Justice (DOJ) issued the man a notice to appear in court at a later date. The Brazilian national was “subsequently released on an order of recognizance.”

Actually, probably some time after Strom posted his article, at least some Trump-Haters on MesSNBC also dumped on Cohen.

This article by Victoria Taft, https://pjmedia.com/victoria-taft/2024/05/16/trump-attorneys-deliver-their-perry-mason-moment-against-michael-cohen-n4929097 , walks through Trump's attorney catching Cohen in a big lie about a supposed event at the core of Bragg's case and Cohen's failed attempt to weasel his way past getting caught.

Well considering the current leadership of Canuckistan I would be concerned with history repeating what happened with a certain other breadbasket, the Breadbasket of Europe. Communists gotta do what communists do.

Illegal Alien Under Deportation Order Since 2017 Arrested for Child Sex Crimes, Strangling Pregnant Teen In Florida
Palm Beach Sheriff's Office
An adult illegal alien who was ordered deported in 2017 was arrested for sex crimes against a minor and strangling a 17-year-old pregnant girl in Florida last week, authorities say.

On Friday evening, 26-year-old Heber Amador Guerrero was apprehended by Palm Beach Sheriff’s Office (PBSO) deputies.

Guerrero, a citizen of Honduras who is illegally present in the United States, was charged with unlawful sexual activity with a minor, domestic battery with strangulation, and aggravated battery on a pregnant teen (17 years of age).

“There was a deportation order issued for him on May 30, 2017, however, he was never deported,” PBSO explained in a statement.

Guerrero is being held on $30,000 bond at Palm Beach County Jail, according to the latest available updates.

1. So ... are you back to promoting solar??   :thud:

We don't have solar, yet we received a bill for a -$67 on our bill.  We had a credit instead of a charge this month; our electric company is a co-op.  #4 solar is very expensive, especially if you try to have your home completely reliant on solar.

I don't care about China.  I care about affordable energy for the U.S., and energy independence.

1. Well China sure does believe in Solar.

2. I am also a member of a coop for power and have been getting the credit 2014. Has nothing to do with solar. Several reasons. They charged you more than they anticipated/needed and you get the money back as a credit. When I signed up in our co-op in 1994 they said I would get my first credit back in 20 years

Solar prices are dropping in this country every year and the  systems improve very year

Immigration and Customs Enforcement
An illegal alien who was recently released into the U.S. despite a homicide conviction in his home country was apprehended by immigration authorities in Massachusetts last week.

On Monday, Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) announced the arrest a 49-year-old Colombian citizen in Pittsfield, MA.

He is wanted in his home country for aggravated homicide, aggravated theft, and unlawful possession of a weapon — charges for which he was convicted in 2016.

“The Colombian national was arrested by authorities in Bucaramanga, Colombia, on April 5, 2014, and charged with aggravated homicide, aggravated theft and possession of a weapon,” ICE explained in a press release.
