Chuck Schumer calls on GOP to help end Trump's rhetoric: 'There's no John McCain anymore'
Washington Times, Jul 18, 2019

President Trump’s “despicable” rhetoric after he failed to stop rallygoers from chanting “send her back” during his tear against Rep. Ilhan Omar.

Mr. Schumer, New York Democrat, said the president was appealing to the “worst instincts in people” and the jeers from the crowd were “eerily familiar to what happens in dictatorships.”

“The only way President Trump will stop is when Republicans on the other side have the honor, the decency, the courage to tell him to stop, and all we hear is silence and diversions from Leader [Mitch] McConnell. Our Republican friends are silent, history will show it,” he said. “This is a moment. There’s no John McCain anymore.”

No there is no John McCain anymore.  No John McCain to pander to the leftists who are becoming the party that is pushing for socialism. I see that as a good thing.  Sorry about your luck Chuck.

Yep, no more John McCain backstabbing R Presidents. McCain did the same to GWB as he did to to Trump.

My theory is that McCain never got over losing the R nomination to GWB in 2000. McCain-Feingold was his attempted revenge on groups he blamed for his defeat. Then came the double defeats of the USSC overturning McC-F and being defeated in 2008 (if you believe Sarah Palin was the cause of that, don't try to collect tolls on the Brooklyn Bridge ... it won't end well). McCain's backstabbing of GWB was envy, and McCain's backstabbing of Trump was his accumulated defeats plus outrage that a political newcomer dared to win the Presidency that he, John McCain did not.

Chuckles & the Dems lost their backstabbing RINO-partner. You can tell how sympathetic I am ...

Several "Republicans" are auditioning for McCain's role.

Qualifications: Ability and willingness to repeat leftist taking points on demand, virtue signal, wring hands, wag fingers, sound like college students, defend our enemies.

There's no Zell Miller or Scoop Jackson any more either.  What's your point?

He misses McCain's crap-weaseling, and no RINO has stepped into McCain's shoes.

They had high hopes for Lindsay Graham, but it looks like Lindsay took a wrong turn.

I can think of lots of unflattering metaphors for the McC-Graham friendship, but Graham has been quite different since McC died. Having to navigate the Kavanaugh slander-assault may have helped open his eyes.

Oh, but fear not, there's always Mittens, who by the way has been unusually quiet with his leftist b.s.

I'm still convinced that McCain had something on him and I think on McConnell as well.
