#ProximaCentauri Daniel Fischer: Question 1: The paper calls it - in the title - a "planet candidate" yet the RV signal is pretty strong
-
Is this a yes or a no?
-
Pale Red Dot @Pale_red_dot 4m4 minutes ago
4/11 However there were hints of a signal between 10-20 days https://palereddot.org/the-signal/ #palereddot

#ProximaCentauri is part of the alpha Centauri system. A&B are two Sun-like stars that orbit one another every 80 years.

Watching now but it sounds like likely yes with further confirmation needed.
That is my take as well..

So what we're really talking about is a dramatic acceleration in progress. No more waiting generations to see the light of other Earths.
Lee Billings @LeeBillings 3m3 minutes ago
Today's discovery gives everyone permission to go all-in on Prox b, or at least to shift to a new, more agile observing paradigm.
