You already know that we need Google account to subscribe channels and download videos from YouTube. If you don’t want Google track what you’re doing on YouTube, well, there is an open source YouTube player named “FreeTube”.

Checked it out and saw nothing there for the Mac.

If one doesn't want to be tracked (on the Mac) one can use the "Epic privacy browser" which will hide your IP from sites you visit.
