Sanders calls out Amazon after 2-year-old orders Batman toy using Echo
By Morgan Chalfant - 01/15/18 10:56 AM EST
White House press secretary Sarah Sanders is calling out Amazon after her two-year-old child was able to use the Echo to purchase an $80 Batman toy.
Sanders used her official White House Twitter account on Sunday to complain that the company’s Echo device allowed her young son to purchase the toy by mistake.
"Alexa, we have a problem if my 2 year old can order a Batman toy by yelling 'Batman!' over and over again into the Echo,†Sanders, who has three children, tweeted on Sunday.

Geez, whatever happened to personal responsibility. Get rid of the damn thing. I don't see the point of these things anyway. I got an Echo as a prize for attending some conference, never opened it out of the box.

Or put a password on it.

Just wait until Sanders' boss finds out she's lining the pockets of Jeff Bezos. :tongue2:

Zactly. And hey, if you get something from Amazon that you don't want or are dissatisfied with, you can return it. Amazon has very good customer service. They will make a wrong right. So what's the problem?
If Trump and his minions are out to destroy this company because they don't like the CEO's other business interest, WaPo, they are going to have a fight on their hands -- not just from the company, but from the huge numbers of people who buy from Amazon like me.

I suspect that's the motivation behind this alleged story--to get back at Bezos and The Washington Post.

I was actually just joking, but do we really want the President of the United States using the power and resources of his office to "get back at" private companies and their owners because they don't like them? Would folks feel it was acceptable for Barack Obama use the power and resources of the office to go after equivalent companies with right-leaning owners? I find that to be an incredible abuse of power whether welded by a Democrat or a Republican. I don't want the Federal Government weighing in and trying to advantage or disadvantage private companies for political reasons, but that's just me.

No, we didn't. See Lois Lerner.

EXACTLY! I knew someone would get it.
:thumbsup:

Sarah should be proud of her two year old daughter. Methinks Sarah (and her hubby) need to spend more time supervising her daughter. From personal experience with 3 kids and a grandson, two year old kids have a propensity for doing many unexpected things at very inconvenient times.
ETA - that was a VERY poor use of her government twitter account. Sarah, you may think you're a rock star now, but your 15 minutes of fame ends when your time with Trump is over (unless she goes to work at Fox News with her daddy).

I think my cat's been using Echo, I keep finding new cat toys under my couch.

She got away with it too. Probably sipping Mai Tais in Tahiti now....

So she was fired and put in jail.....right?

It certainly wouldn't be the first time. Obama did it and now Trump seems to enjoy doing it.

Right. On a beach in Tahiti.

@Restored
How do you put a password on two year olds?
-
So she was fired and put in jail.....right?
No, she resigned and was found in contempt of Congress. That immigration hardass Goodlatte even went so far as to call the whole thing 'disturbing.' However, in the age of Donny, we don't always get everything we want. So now, we can look back, claim Art Of The Deal, and say it was a 'win' anyway......right?

We move on to the next outrage and forget about the last.....quickly.
Remeber how we were going to find out who in congress used tax dollars to silence sex harassment/assault claims?

@Cripplecreek
Well when you're all incensed about the use of offcolor language in a private meeting priorities change.

Yes, let's blame the machine and not the humans responsible for monitoring it and the kid . . . said every gun control advocate ever.

Am I to believe the White House Press secretary has a live microphone connected to Amazon via the Internet in her home?
And that she thinks that's a smart secure thing to do?
Yikes!

There is no such thing as a "private" meeting with Democratic congress members. Duh...

Why Yes, yes she was. In fact I saw it on an episode of "Alternative Realities" last week. Or was it next week.

If she has it connected to a private server in the bathroom closet, she’s good to go.
