The Los Angeles Department of Children and Family Services has opened an official investigation into a picture taken by Will and Jada Smith's 13-year-old daughter Willow Smith, in which the teen is shown posing in bed with half-naked 20-year-old actor Moises Arias, according to Radar Online.
The picture generated controversy earlier this month when it was posted to social media by Arias, who later deleted it. In the black-and-white photo, Arias is shown leaning against the wall, shirtless, while Willow lays across the bed, although she is fully clothed.
"The investigation was formally opened last week and is being taken very seriously by the department," a source close to the investigation told Radar. "Will and Jada Pinkett Smith have been extremely cooperative with officials. Of course, they aren't happy that their parenting skills are under scrutiny, but they understand."
The inside source added that the investigation could be open for a month, "out of an abundance of caution."
