I have a deep-seeded bitterness toward "TV weather girls" after my own attempt at a career in the field crashed and burned before it began—in no small part BECAUSE of certain television stations' preference for women weather anchors regardless of qualifications. Imagine planning your whole life, spending four years and thousands of dollars in college, only to find the door shut while these unqualified bimbos get to cut in line.
It's a cruel world, man.

I totally feel for you on this, Myrle. I watched a News Director gig at a radio station slip away because I was the wrong color for Jimmy Carter's FCC. I eventually left the field and got a technical degree to work in the Semiconductor industry. In a sense, I suppose I should be glad that happened.
