The Wealth Gap: An Existential Threat
By Robert A. Taft

Since 1970 the value of the dollar has steadily declined. The lower 80% of Americans have lost income and purchasing power, largely due to the exodus of manufacturing by global corporations. As a result, the wealth gap between the global rich and the rest has widened.

From 2007-2016 the net worth of the richest Americans increased by 20% while the lower 80% decreased by the same percentage, widening the wealth gap considerably. The Federal Reserve sparked this change using quantitative easing to boost the sagging stock market. The rich could invest in this wealth explosion but the rest could not as much.

Increasingly wealthy globalists pressured the government and now the top 1% own over half of U.S. wealth while the top quintile owns about 94% of the wealth. The bottom 80% have their wealth tied up in their homes or vehicles and most suffer from chronic debt.

Not only does the Fed-backed stock market favor the super-rich, but the U.S. tax system does too. The average American pays an effective tax rate of 13% while the very rich pay 18%. But when wealth gains are included, the effective tax rate on the very wealthy averages a mere 4.8%.

Biden's Brain Breaks at APAICS Gala, Makes Creepy Comment About Woman, Adds New 'Origin Story'
By Nick Arama | 10:18 PM on May 14, 2024

Joe Biden delivered some brief remarks at the Asian Pacific American Institute for Congressional Studies’ 30th Annual Awards Gala on Tuesday evening.

It didn't go well; he was slurring a lot throughout the remarks.

Anyone who knows Biden knows that anytime he talks to a group, he's going to come up with an "origin story" that fits the occasion. On this occasion, he noted how he was "raised" by the late Sen. Danny Inouye (D-HI) when he came to the Senate. He also mentioned he was friends with former Secretary of Transportation Norm Mineta, so I guess that all makes him Asian too. Add that to the long list of all the things Biden is.

But then he botched his acting labor secretary's name.

Then he made some weird comment about a lady in the audience whose gown he liked. "Where is she? Stand up, kid! I like that dress. Let 'em see your gown!"

He slurred, referring to the person as "Director of my Office of Science and Technology." That person is Dr. Arati Prabhakar, whom he's referring to, and Biden made that a Cabinet-level position. He's now referring to a female member of his Cabinet as "Kid."

It's so creepy that he just can't seem to stop himself from making weird comments or doing strange things around women and girls.

And President Joe Biden “seems more intent on defending his economic performance and getting credit for the good work that he has done in many ways and not really advocating for people in a tough economy because of the inflation.”

Wow, I got stuck in a little time loop reading this because...what friggin good works?

The 2024 race to the White House is now Donald Trump’s to lose
By Social Links for Michael Goodwin

The verdict is in and the people have spoken.

The court of public opinion doesn’t give a damn about Stormy Daniels and Michael Cohen.

Outside Manhattan and other Democratic strongholds, Americans don’t care whether a flaky porn actress and an ex-con serial liar with a closet full of axes to grind are telling the truth.

In fact, media obsession about the partisan show trial of defendant Donald Trump is obscuring a far more significant truth about him.

Candidate Trump has opened his biggest lead in the presidential campaign.

Polls of battleground states, along with such anecdotal evidence as the enormous turnout of 100,000 people at his New Jersey rally and dispirited concessions by Joe Biden supporters, signal that we’ve reached a turning point in the battle for the White House.

Cohen Made Huge Admission in NYC Trump Case and Now the Tumblers Begin to Fall in Place
Victoria Taft
5–6 minutes

Well, well, well. What in the world does the prosecution of Donald Trump in Manhattan for bookkeeping charges have to do with the DOJ, Special Counsel Robert Mueller, and Russia, Russia, Russia? Seems interesting, no? We're just now beginning to understand a few more things about this Jenga-like prosecution of Donald Trump.

Other than the feds, in the form of the Southern District of New York federal prosecutors and the Federal Elections Commission declining to prosecute Trump for his payments to his attorney, we learned Tuesday that Robert Mueller's Special Counsel's Office wanted a piece of Michael Cohen before he reported to prison in 2018. Indeed, when all the questions are answered, we might discover that it was Mueller's pitbull, Andrew Weissmann, the FBI, and the DOJ who were responsible for his bizarre plea deal that sparked the idea for this wrong-headed case.

You'll find Weissmann all over MSNBC opining on the Manhattan case and telling the audience there that Trump is guilty... of something in this accounting brouhaha.

Here's what happened in court Tuesday during Cohen's testimony when the prosecutor asked him about it.

Cohen is testifying that he met with special counsel Robert Mueller's office several times before reporting to prison. Cohen first met with the special counsel's office in 2018 before pleading guilty, and he says he was not truthful "because I was still holding onto the loyalty to President Trump."

Forget The Media Spin — Here’s Who GOP Voters Really Favor As Trump’s V.P.: I&I/TIPP Poll
Terry Jones
May 15, 2024

Who should be Donald Trump’s vice presidential running mate? Though no one yet knows who it will be, many people seem to have an opinion about whom it should be. It’s a long list of possible names for the increasingly important vice presidential job, as the latest I&I/TIPP Poll indicates.

As part of our monthly national online poll, taken from May 1-3, we asked 538 Republicans, and those who lean that way, two questions about who they preferred as Trump’s vice president. The poll has a margin of error of +/-4.3 percentage points.

First we asked a straightforward question: “Who is your top choice for Trump’s vice president?” To be thorough, 21 different names were included in the list, along with “not sure.”

The big winner is no surprise: Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis, who collected 15% of the support. No one else received double-digit backing as top choice.

Trailing DeSantis were former United Nations Ambassador Nikki Haley (8%), author-entrepreneur Vivek Ramaswamy (7%), Texas Gov. Greg Abbott (7%), surgeon and former Health Secretary Ben Carson (5%), former Hawaii Rep. Tulsi Gabbard (5%), South Carolina Sen. Tim Scott (4%), former Arkansas Gov. Sarah Huckabee Sanders (3%), and TV commentator Tucker Carlson (3%).
