Louisiana resident Stephanie Morse treats chickens like family, and like any other family member, Morse’s chickens get costumes every Halloween.
"Their bare skin is exposed, I just like to put a sweater on them to keep them warm and comfortable, and some of them have more personality," Morse told CBS affiliate KNOE-TV.
But people like Morse are being told not to trick-or-treat with their chickens this Halloween. The CDC is asking pet owners to refrain from dressing up their chickens this year due to a particular strain of salmonella.

When chicken Halloween costumes are outlawed, only outlaws will have chicken Halloween costumes.

:rolling: With information like this, is there any doubt?

My pet chupacabra is going to be very disappointed if he can't dress up this Halloween. He always looks forward to it.

My husband says that you can’t make something idiot proof because somebody will just build a better idiot.
-
So if you see Paul Ryan out trick-or-treating without a costume, that's why.

I haven't figured out why people put clothes dogs and cats, much less chickens.
-
"Their bare skin is exposed..."
Does she pluck live chickens? What does that mean?

I don’t know what’s worse: Wealthy, white, liberal women dressing up their backyard chickens, or the liberal run CDC needing to warn them about the dangers of dressing up their chickens. Either way, this article is proof that liberals literally ruin everything.

Well, at least it didn't say anything about me shaving my cat. Don't have any chickens but I always shave the cat and then paint her up like a clown. It looks like that is still Ok.

We never put "clothes" on them, but when we lived up north we did put boots on the dogs. They salted the roads up there and when we walked them the ice would reform between the pads of their feet and could have resulted in infections etc....

@verga
Boots to protect their paws aren't what I'm talking about. I would do that myself.
