Bedwetting Liberal Colorado?  LOL!  The only good thing about Colorado is the river that runs near my Castle.

Don't take that water.  It is not yours.

OK, to add to my reply above about how to read an article at The Epoch Times...

I've got something called Parallels on the Mac, which lets me run Windows 11 in a virtual machine. Tried running MS Edge, and was able to get it going.

I then went to the Epoch Times page, and opened an article.
Of course, I got the "subscription block".

Poking around the tool bar in Edge, I found something called "immersive reader mode" (or something along that line).

I clicked that and the contents of the article became readable.

Try it.

I'm going to take a guess that many browsers on the PC side have something similar.

C'mon -- I'm the dumbest guy in the forum. If I can do it, YOU can do it...!

Trump attorneys highlight key reason why Cohen payments were labeled ‘legal expenses’

Former President Donald Trump is on trial in New York for allegedly falsifying records of a hush money payment, but his defense attorneys made the case in court this week that the way the Trump Organization recorded the expense was aboveboard.

Jeffrey McConney, a former controller who oversaw accounting at Trump’s company, testified this week about the process of recording the $420,000 that Trump paid his ex-attorney Michael Cohen in 2017. The payment is now at the heart of Manhattan District Attorney Alvin Bragg’s charges against the former president.

McConney explained how the Trump Organization, like many companies, used a computer program to maintain its ledger of expenses and revenue. Entries on the ledger corresponded to various accounting categories, such as utility bills or real estate taxes, and users were limited to the choices available in the computer program.

“Legal expense” was one of these categories in the Trump Organization’s accounting system, according to evidence presented during the trial. McConney instructed an accountant to categorize the payments to Cohen as legal expenses “because we were paying a lawyer,” he testified.

“[Legal expense] was basically part of a dropdown menu?” Trump’s attorney Emil Bove asked during his cross-examination of McConney.

“Yes,” McConney replied.

“These categories, there was a level of rigidity to them, right?” Bove asked, observing how the accounting computer program was a product of the 1990s.

“Yes,” McConney said.

This should be a matter of justice and not politics, but it has become a matter of politics and not justice.

I guess everyone is set here on giving Trump a pass on being the "whoremaster".... every single bit of this was preventable... 100% Character Matters...

And folks mocked Pence for saying he didn't take meeting with other women in private for appearances sake.

America voted for someone that chose to appear on the cover of Playboy and proudly displayed it in photos with church leaders and Kids.

More importantly, we lost what moral high ground conservatives used to be able to claim.... gone and probable never to return.

Trump may well be a whoremaster. But that isn't a prosecutable offense.

Rubio dodges leaving Florida to join Trump ticket but says he’s discussed VP obstacle

Sen. Marco Rubio (R-FL) on Wednesday told the Washington Examiner that he’s discussed the constitutional limitations to having presidential and vice presidential candidates on the same ticket from the same state.

The revelation comes as the Florida Republican is on former President Donald Trump’s short list as a running mate, fueling speculation that Rubio is considering a change in residency.

The Constitution states that Electoral College electors cannot cast ballots for two people on the presidential ticket from the same state.

“I imagine there are people that are looking at — I mean, people talk to me about the topic of the constitutional ban, what Cheney had to do and others,” Rubio said in a brief interview.

Rubio was referring to former Vice President Dick Cheney, who in 2000 exchanged his Texas residency for that of Wyoming because then-presidential candidate George W. Bush was also from Texas. Cheney was a former Wyoming congressman.

Rubio neither confirmed nor denied that he was considering a similar move.

Democrats Save Johnson: 163 Votes to Continue Johnson’s Coalition Government

Speaker Mike Johnson (R-LA) officially owes his gavel to Democrats.

An overwhelming 163 Democrats chose to continue Mike Johnson’s coalition government with the essential co-Speaker Hakeem Jeffries (D-NY), voting to table a motion from Rep. Marjorie Taylor Green (R-GA) to strip Johnson of his gavel.

The historic 359 to 43 vote likely cements Johnson’s speakership – for now.

The final tally included seven Democrats voting present and eleven not voting, along with ten Republicans who did not vote.

Ultimately, only 32 Democrats proved unhappy enough with Johnson’s stewardship of the House to vote to enable Greene’s gavel-stripping resolution to move forward.

Democrats have a good thing going under Johnson. Jeffries said Sunday that Democrats have controlled the House agenda under Johnson.

“Even though we’re in the minority, we effectively have been governing as if we were in the majority because we continue to provide a majority of the votes necessary to get things done,” he told CBS. “Those are just the facts.”

Greene filed her motion to vacate the chair Wednesday evening. She read an extensive list of Johnson’s violations that led to her motion, as her colleagues jeered and mocked her throughout.

As expected, Majority Leader Steve Scalise (R-LA), on behalf of Johnson, immediately moved to table that motion – which would effectively kill it.

Jeffries and his leadership team had promised they would deliver the votes to save Johnson, but their promise did not extend beyond an initial tabling vote. Greene, her partner Rep. Thomas Massie (R-KY), or any other Republican can force another vote, a prospect Democrats have not tipped their hand as to how they would respond.
