What's a few trillion dollars more in debt? Especially after the military initially said it was unnecessary, the functions we're already served by the other branches (mostly the Air Force). Tax and spend, tax and spend....

Any money we spend on space innovation will come back into the economy, as it did back in the day, which is more than I can say for the gazillions we spent in the Middle East. Read the list I included, the space program was, by a huge margin, a net positive economically.
