Dem party has no room for any pro-lifers.

I was baptized Catholic, took First Penance, and too First Communion, but not Confirmation - because I knew I could not be a Catholic in good standing because I am pro-Choice (need to keep Big Government out of the womb and away from the groin).

Greene, Speaker Johnson to meet amid ouster threat
by Mychael Schnell - 05/06/24 11:06 AM ET

Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene (R-Ga.) will meet with Speaker Mike Johnson (R-La.) on Monday afternoon as the Georgia Republican vows to force a vote on the GOP leader’s ouster, two sources familiar with the matter told The Hill.

The meeting is set to take place at 3:30 p.m. EDT, one source said. Greene requested the conversation, the source noted.

Greene announced last week that she would move to force a vote on Johnson’s ouster this week, after dangling her motion to vacate resolution over his head for more than a month.

Her effort, however, is all but sure to fail. A growing number of conservative Republicans have said they do not support the motion to vacate, despite their frustrations with the Speaker’s recent legislative moves, and top House Democrats said they will vote to table the removal resolution if Greene calls it to the floor for a vote, two dynamics that are eroding support for Greene’s gambit.

Only two Republicans — Reps. Thomas Massie (Ky.) and Paul Gosar (Ariz.) — have publicly expressed support for Greene’s motion to vacate.

If there is any fix to all this, it will be past my lifetime. It will take decades to run its course.

@Maj. Bill Martin

And this is probably applicable to MTG

If she was opposing aid to Ukraine based on true fiscal concerns, she could be taken more seriously

I suspect this is more of an opposition to Biden on her part with some Putin admiration . I’ll wager that, should Trump win, she’ll sign on to every bizarre and costly spending proposal from him and promote and back his inflationary and economic threatening policies and threaten any House Republicans that are in disagreement

I think that is what it boils down to, the fact that Joe Biden supports Ukraine.  Sorry, but I happen to agree with Biden on this issue. Correction, I'm not sorry.

You are right, MTG will support Trump's runaway spending and it was Trump's runaway spending that got us into this mess in the first place.

Joe Biden Really Insults Women Voters
Matt Margolis

Joe Biden has claimed he grew up in a black church, a Jewish synagogue, and a Puerto Rican neighborhood. He hasn't yet claimed to identify as a woman, but if polls show him losing ground with the LGBT community, I'm sure that's next.

There seems to be no limit to his pandering.

"This November, voters are going to teach Donald Trump a valuable lesson: Don’t mess with the women of America," one of Biden's aides posted on his Twitter account.

Really, Joe? Do you really think that all women share the same political views and will vote in unison against Donald Trump?

I suppose it makes sense that Biden would think this way since, during a 2020 campaign appearance on "The Breakfast Club" podcast with Charlemagne Tha God, he literally said, “If you have a problem figuring out whether you’re for me or Trump, then you ain’t black."

"Ironically, the Wall Street Journal recently reported that the Trump campaign is considering a separate series of policy proposals intended to “blunt” the Fed’s independence. But if Trump’s proposals for greater tariffs would exacerbate inflation (and they would), modern monetary theory poses a far greater risk to the economy and to the Federal Reserve."

An argument for Trump's fiscal policies v. Biden's economic disasters.  Both are a train wreck.

Neither are going to resolve the quagmire that we are in; neither are going to be good for this country.

Then there's also the argument that we cannot sustain the ILLEGAL invasion.....

I wish there were brighter days ahead ... but another 4 years is a very, very long time and I just don't think we're going to be able to dig ourselves out of the hole that we are suffocating in.

Hamas accepts cease-fire deal to halt war against Israel

The Hamas terrorist group announced Monday that it has accepted a cease-fire agreement brokered by Egypt and Qatar to end the war against Israel in the Gaza Strip.

It released a statement saying its leader Ismail Haniyeh "had a phone call with the Qatari Prime Minister, Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdul Rahman Al-Thani, and with the Egyptian Minister of Intelligence, Mr. Abbas Kamel, and informed them of the Hamas movement’s approval of their proposal regarding the ceasefire agreement."

There was no immediate response from Israel. The fate of the hostages still in Hamas' possession following its Oct. 7 attack on Israel that launched the war remains uncertain.
