Donald Trump’s spiritual adviser has suggested that people send her money in order to transform their lives, or face divine consequences.
Paula White, who heads up the president’s evangelical advisory committee, suggested making a donation to her ministries to honor the religious principle of “first fruit,†which she said is the idea that all firsts belong to God, including the first harvest and, apparently, the first month of your salary.
"Right now I want you to click on that button, and I want you to honor God with his first fruits offering,†she said in a video shared to her website, in which she encourages her followers to donate to her ministries to get blessings from God.

I remember seeing this woman preach in front of an audience of black people. She affected a cringe-worthy black dialect that was not at all subtle. Think Hillary Clinton with that horrible fake "I ain't no ways tarred", only more street. It was an embarrassment. The audience should have walked out.

Of course, an "anonymous" donor came in at the last minute, and Oral lived to see another day.

I'd be upset with this broad if she was stealing credit card numbers or doing strong arm home invasions for the money, but she isn't. She is merely asking for it. I wish I figured this angle out. I would have gotten a lot richer a lot sooner.

While I certainly scoffed at some of Trump's positions and statements that related to faith ("Two Corinthians" for example), I don't recall being in a discussion of Paula White. I wouldn't spend much time discussing or thinking about her.

There were a number of discussion about Paula White and Trump here before the election. Trump is a big fan of hers. It looks like the TBR database has lost a number references to it when it crashed.

It's not uncommon for me to lock myself out of a website or other entry point which requires a password due to guessing incorrectly from various passwords in my head. Just when I get my critical few locations set and running passwords I can remember, one of them notifies me that my password is expiring and must be changed. I guess there is some kind of password management software or application to solve that problem but I haven't investigated them.

I have to remember so many passwords that I make them match my systems.
A Develop system will have some form of Develop in the password.
A Production system will have some form of Production in the password.
An SQL Server system will have some form of SQL Server in the password.
and so forth. It goes that way for banking and gaming etc.

They may be 'idiots,' but the real problem is the criminals who take their money under the vile false pretense that God will punish them if they don't.
I understand why people reject Christianity if this is what they think Christianity is.

The fact is that most of these people don't truly believe in God. True believers actually believe a final judgement is coming and try to behave accordingly.

There are numerous times Bob and I talk about how difficult it is now for seniors to nevigate their life; for instance, to get prescriptions one takes all the time - one needs to be able to go to the drugstore website to keep up with it all. Many seniors cannot navigate the web.
Also, in this area, specialty doctors have two/three/four offices spread around the area so they are not in your area all the time. Getting an appointment when he/she is in your area means you may have to wait a month to see that doctor. You may also be given the wrong date or sent to another area for that doctor and he/she isn't there that day. And, if age and health makes it unsafe for you to drive a long distance, you are stuck until that doctor is in your area.
One needs a phone. An elderly person has trouble with phones full of doodads on it.
The elderly are more prone to buy stuff when a salesman calls them, no matter what the salesman is selling. They consider someone who calls them, their friend, since they called.
I teach a Bible study class of elderly people at our church. I consider it my "group therapy" class as well as Bible study. I help them with their living problems, and the younger ones, in their late 60s, help the older ones when they need it - even taking them to doctors. One of them is 93 and was a fine poet. One of our group takes him to his doctorsf and to Starbucks for coffee and talk. That Starbucks knows him and never charges him for coffee or eats. He is their special friend. At every meeting, I read one of his poems from the poetry book he wrote. The book is, "Life's Path is a Poem" - I bought it on Amazon. Here is the one I read to the group last Saturday:

Each of these elderly people have a life story and each has shared it with the classs. One was a Nun for many years. One was a surgical nurse and still works in medical research - she has to have kidney dialysis to stay alive. All of them were "something" in their past and they are stilll "something". No matter how old they get, they are special people.
It disturbs me when people treat/talk about the elderly like they don't matter. That happens on this forum too much - paraphasing, "he's/she's old so they should leave congress", "why doesn't he/she just die and get it over with", etc. Discounting a human being because they are old is an insult to life and to God.
For those of you who talk about the elderly in a disparaging way, you are going to be there if you don't die earlier. You are not going to want to die because your fellow posters think you should. Remember, they will be there too, if they don't die earlier. See, this is repetitive because time doesn't stop. All get older - including you.
