Title: This new skyscraper will completely change the Manhattan skyline
Post by: Gefn on April 21, 2024, 03:32:32 pm
If you thought that Manhattan's skyline was already too full to accommodate for new towers, you'd be wrong: we'll soon be getting another massive building in midtown that is going to dwarf all the structures around it.

This week, Mayor Eric Adams unveiled renderings for a “once-in-a-generation,” 1.8 million square-foot, 62-story Park Avenue office building that is set to be completed by 2032.

According to the Mayor, the building, which will be located on 350 Park Avenue, will add more than 6,000 jobs to the city's roster and massively contribute to the town's post-COVID economic recovery.

Designed by architectural firm Foster + Partners, the tower will have floor-to-ceiling glass windows and landscaped terraces, boasting a style reminiscent of a staircase (one ascending to the sky) that will look completely different from much of what currently dominates the midtown officescape.

What businesses that may be left in NY will be able to afford to rent/lease space in it? Also has the mayor disclosed what percentage of the building will be mandated for free housing for migrants ILLEGAL ALIENS?

Good question. Between the shamdemic (and more people working from home), the Biden economy and the mass migration away from so many large crime-ridden cities, it's hard to believe there's a big demand for more office space in Manhattan.

I don't see how they can pull it off, considering today's vacancy rates all over the city.

Might want to reexamine those priorities, Mayor. Seems to me you just want a Mayor Eric Adams legacy building. Maybe address the crime and the grime and see if people still want to live there once those are under control? NYC has problems that no sparkling new skyscraper will be able to overcome.
