Title: Gay, Powell test positive for banned substances

The list reads like a Who's Who among the world's best sprinters:

Jamaican Asafa Powell, the former world-record holder at 100 meters.

American champion Tyson Gay, who went out of his way to promote himself as an anti-drug athlete.

Jamaican Sherone Simpson, who has a gold and two silver Olympic medals to her credit.

Word came Sunday that all three had failed drug tests. "A sad day," one former track official called it - and certainly a day that punctured the myth that the oft-troubled sport has cleaned up its act.

Eventually the question will have to be asked... who investigates the investigators? What is to say that the WADA has not gone totally wild here?

There is a good reason a lot of people are storing their own blood.  BTW tainted blood is nothing new. Back in 1971 my mother was diagnosed with Chronic Serum Hepatitis due to a blood transfusion.  This was when I was first getting interested in nutrition and she actually was able to restore health to her liver and lived another 38 years, but one thing about hepatitis - sooner or later it is likely to kill you, her's did return from dormancy and become liver cancer and killed her.

Gay has prided himself on being a clean runner. Apparently, someone convinced him to try something and he didn't investigate for himself whether it was permissible (for which his fellow athletes like hurdler David Oliver have scolded him).
