Arizona GOP gubernatorial candidate Kari Lake is reportedly among the short list of female candidates former President Donald Trump is considering as his 2024 running mate.
Lake, who rose to fame during the 2022 midterm elections when she ran for governor in Arizona, could be a major asset for Trump as he courts white suburban female voters. The Republican candidate closely aligned herself with the former president throughout her gubernatorial campaign, defending Trump’s claims that the 2020 election was stolen through widespread voter fraud — later using similar rhetoric to argue against her own electoral loss in 2022.
Trump is strongly considering tapping a female running mate to be his vice presidential candidate in 2024, with at least four women currently on his short list, according to Axios. Lake is considered a strong contender within Trump’s inner circles as she has often defended the former president on an array of matters.
However, her candidacy could pose one flaw, as Trump doesn’t want to risk picking a running mate who could steal the spotlight, according to the outlet.

I think she is smart enough to know that, and would take great care to ensure she is deferring to Trump. Purely in a political sense to energize those who share Trump's views, she'd be perfect.

Well, there are two aspects of qualification. Experience, and competency. She has zero accomplishments on the first matter, mosty due to the second.

As much as I like Mr. Trump, this could be a SERIOUS mistake.
He should run with a respected male from Congress with proven credentials.
Someone who is actually capable of stepping into the position if he can't continue.
Rand Paul comes to mind...
