Trump Holds 30-Point Lead over DeSantis in Fox News Poll
Paul Bois29 Mar 202322
2:32
A new Fox News poll has put former President Donald Trump 30 points ahead of his biggest possible opponent, Republican Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis.
Polling 1,007 registered voters nationwide between March 24-27 with +/- 3 percentage points, the Fox News Poll showed that Trump has doubled his lead in the Republican primary since February, 54 percent to 24 percent. In February, Trump just had a 15-point lead, 43 percent to 28 percent. In third place stands former Vice President Mike Pence at just six percent, while Liz Cheney and Nikki Haley remain tied with three percent each.
It should be noted that DeSantis has yet to announce his candidacy for president.

I’m not surprised
Fiscal sanity will never outcompete baby checks, MAGA cities, and flying cars
This Victor, whatever his last name is, is talking fiscal conservatism. I just wish there was a record to know that he’s for real.
-
Works for me. I have always suspected that the large and strong support for President Trump during his presidency would go up after the election was stolen from him. Americans are basically fair minded and have contempt for cheaters.
I also believe the real scope of public support for Trump’s efforts to restore American sovereignty and rein in our enormous fedgov has been obscured by the establishment media.
So it doesn’t surprise me that Trump’s doing this well in current polling.

This is a poll of primary voters
Not the electorate at large
But, I won a bet. I bet a friend of mine that his polling amongst primary voters would go up after the big expensive promises he’s making so there’s that
-
Polls. :3:
-
The Stone/Pecker Slime machine got hired early and did their job as advertised.
So guess what.... our choice in '24 will be two ultra spending fiscal liberals who are taking us down the drain of debt.
We all lose.
-
This isn't a surprise. DeSantis really can't respond fully to Trump's attacks until he's an official candidate, and all those others who would support a DeSantis candidacy are basically muted until then as well. Trump also is benefitting from the NY grand jury fiasco.
We'll have to see what happens after DeSantis declares, which he will.

I don’t share your confidence
MAGA cities with baby bonuses, not sure if hiring Christopher Wray was a mistake, and hiring Jeb staffers to run his campaign, which, according to MAGAs is a bigger crime than murder, yet his poll numbers amongst primary voters still went up
I have accepted that Donald Trump will be our nominees. He’ll also lose the general election so that’s why keeping the House and getting the Senate have to be priority number one for now.

My guess is that 80% of GOP primary voters haven't even heard of those three things. If there was an active campaign, they would. And I have absolutely every confidence in Trump to say/do enough stupid things between now and the actual primaries to create plenty of openings. As I said elsewhere, I can't wait until he gets ticked and says something horrible about Nikki Haley, because you know that's coming.

These are people that get all their information from “TruthSocial.” So they’re in an information bubble
I guarantee they know about MAGA cities and baby bonds.
But I also guarantee “TruthSocial” didn’t give any examples of were Trump’s MAGA cities idea has failed. But we did and kudos to many of those briefers who did provide examples of this failure in waiting.
Same with the baby bonds. We had a program that paid women to have babies. It was called the Great Society. And that can be traced to the devastation it has caused to the black family.
-

Sure, Truth Social voters are not winnable. But that's only a few million -- not enough to get Trump close to the nomination.

I do think there is a non-MAGA core out there who support Trump because he does seem to one of the few fighting the deep and wide swamp. Outside his craziness, I will grant him kudos for that. I truly applaud his rollback on and freeze on regulatory largess.

Sure -- but if they're non-MAGA, that means almost by definition that they're at least open to someone else.

Agreed, and that's why Trump got the Stone/Pecker slime machine started early onto DeSantis. I sure Trump believes that as long as he can keep his competition in single digits in the polls, he has it.
-
Considering that Haley has announced her campaign, Trump will be the nominee and likely lose against the DEMS. Joy!
-
Polls at this point meant squat
-
Polls at this point meant squat
Polls have been proven to be pretty much useless the last several election cycles and they are skewed to create the outcome that is wanted.
Even IF DeSantis were ahead in the polls it would be meaningless especially since he hasn't made the announcement he's running.

Yeop.
Biden @ 37% approval in North Carolina, but still beating Trump:

Low job approval rating doesn’t necessarily mean removal from office. We saw this in France a few years ago with Macron.

I do believe this poll is accurate. Can things happen between now and next year that changes the dynamic? Possibly.

3-5 percentage points here and there are static
30% movements like in the case of DeSantis can not be ignored as that. RDS has sank, thanks to the Trumpeverse mud singing machine.

Alvin Bragg has assisted in that, also. Plus, all the money Trump is promising his MAGAs if they vote for him

It will be 40 points next week.

Works for me, too.
But...
What was "stolen" once, can and probably will be stolen again.
It makes little difference what "fair minded Americans" may think.
The Party found its "secret recipe" for success in 2020, and it worked for them AGAIN in 2022. With each election cycle, they learn and build upon their previous success.
Until you can fix what is wrong in Michigan, Wisconsin, Pennsylvania, Arizona and Georgia, it's doubtful that ANY Republican will win the presidency again.
And that includes the heaviest-of-hitters, even Mr. Trump.
I wish that weren't so.
But I call 'em as I see 'em, and that's how I see what's coming down the road...

Exactly. I have made similar comment several times; the leftists/marxists/globalists will do whatever it takes to keep him from running again. Never ever under estimate their evilness.

Agreed. Playing the martyr is good for a campaign.

All the more reason for DeSantis to hide his time and keep his powder dry for 2028.

I agree. The downside is we will have to go through another four years of Biden and his cackling sidekick.
But with everything going on as it relates to the 2024 presidential race, both primary and general, it’s already a hot, wet mess
-
I agree. The downside is we will have to go through another four years of Biden and his cackling sidekick.
Indeed. Which means that for 2024 we really have to focus on Congress and on state government.
-
And the PTB will NEVER allow Donald J. Trump to become president again no matter what they have to do to prevent it.
Which is exactly why they want Trump to run again. By neutralizing one of the two parties in the two-party system, they basically hijack the country.
They already control the women of childbearing age. That's the future.
How do I escape this nightmare?

Focus on Congress and the states. In particular, focus on secretaries of state. They count the ballots, and thus control most elections.
-
BS.
The elections are gonna get more unwinnable as times moves forward. Some here have argued that 24 is our last chance. DeSantis should go for it NOW, prove that Trumpism is not the answer, going forward.
*As a transphobic Woman I can tell the size of a Man's cajones by his outward appearances and his mannerisms and I have made the determination that DeSantis and Cruz wear the same size cup.
-
corbe...
I can tell the size of a Man's cajones by his outward appearances and his mannerisms and I have made the determination that DeSantis and Cruz wear the same size cup.
Point of clarification, excuse my ignorance, but are you saying they both have huge cajones?
Most folks in politics do indeed.
-
BS.

I agree. I believe Trump deserves to be challenged hard, from a conservative perspective, on things like spending, COVID, etc. I think without DeSantis, that either won't happen or it will go beneath the radar when it does.
If he loses to Trump, we are no worse off than if Trump went unchallenged. DeSantis could always run again in 2028 just like Reagan did in 1976 and 1980.
I would think worse of DeSantis if he didn't run for the nomination but endorsed Trump in the general election. At least if he runs against Trump, he can endorse Trump only as a condition of participating in the debates, but still would make clear how different he is from Trump.
A guy like Trump doesn't deserve a freebie.
-
I would think worse of DeSantis if he didn't run for the nomination but endorsed Trump in the general election.
C'mon now... He ain't even declared. He wife is all hammered up. He's running a giant state in a state of emergency, with a ton of damage.
His obligations may lie elsewhere. I won't be offended in the least if he steps off...
-

What's the state of emergency in Florida?
BTW, Casey's medical treatments ended successfully and she has been cancer free since March 2022
-
A Fox News Poll
well theres the answer
-
What's the state of emergency in Florida?
@Right_in_Virginia
That hurricane ain't nowhere near over.
BTW, Casey's medical treatments ended successfully and she has been cancer free since March 2022
Good on em... But that ain't over either...
And it don't matter. He ain't obligated to run, regardless of the reason. It is his business and I wish him well.
If he DOES throw his hat in the ring it will become real, and I will very likely support him and vote for him. And I cannot think of another person that could displace that.
But he don't owe it to me, or anyone else.
-
Trump was just indicted and DeSantis hasn't even declared he's running.
This poll is just like most other political polls; worthless.

Well, don't tell Ronny. He's already claimed credit for the extraordinary recovery after Ian.
Good on em... But that ain't over either...
I wasn't sure if you knew the latest on Casey's health. I agree with you here...the next couple of years will be tense for her. But, I'm guessing, and it's only a guess, that she's fully on board with a decision to formally announce.
-

As he has every right to.

Their business.
And I think it is dumb as hell cranking all this sh*t up this early...
If he waits a year to throw the hat, that'd be fine.
-

My thoughts as well. He's 30 points over an undeclared nominee this far out. Big whoop...I'll bet he's 99% over me. I keep seeing Abbott listed in these polls. As far as I know Abbott has no intention of running.
Truthfully, I kind of hope DeSantis doesn't run. I'm really afraid that this election (if we have one) will be a total sh*t storm. Would I vote for him...you bet. But I really think the states with strong govs need to keep them until we see what might happen. Taking off my tinfoil hat now.

Absolutely. IMHO the governors of red states are the ones that are pretty much keeping this country together.

DeSantis hasn't even declared he's running.
His BS is wearing thin @libertybele @roamer_1

Vivek Ramaswamy???? Shadow presidency? *****rollingeyes*****
Gee I don't know, I live in the state of Florida and so far Governor DeSantis has done a really good job.
BTW He still is helping us with the recovery of Ian; Ft. Myers Beach, and Pine Island are still in dire straits. Those two areas were absolutely decimated with 13 ft. storm surge. Do you think "poof" and 6 mos. later everything is back to normal?? Good grief.
Next.

Donald got in super early so he could bash the looming prosecution for "election interference." There is no upside for Republicans to engage in a circular firing squad for 20 months. Reagan jumped in November of 1979. Most voters would be fine with that timeframe.
-
Agree. Now let's drop the "DeSantis is busy taking care of a state of emergency" nonsense. That's all I ask.
LOL!
Oh so you think all the houses are fixed and the roads and bridges are back? The rail lines put back, and power is all back on everywhere? That ain't nowhere NEAR over.
So no, @Right_in_Virginia , and I think it commendable that he is sticking to it, instead of fruitlessly bickering with your sophomoric boy.
-

Exactly. Trump himself didn't get in until June 2015, and only declared as early as he did this time because of his unique situation with the pending prosecutions.
DeSantis, unlike Ramaswamy, is a sitting governor in a state whose legislative session expires in May. Finishing the legislative session before embarking on a campaign makes a hell of a lot more sense than starting your campaign in the middle a session.

@Right_in_Virginia
I am aware that the LEGAL sense of emergency is complete and over. But the disaster is ongoing. And will be ongoing for quite some time to come.

Because he can walk and chew gum at the same time.

I ain't digging. @libertybele *just now* got her roof materials delivered. And she ain't alone. HUGE areas need replacement services and are operating in an ad-hoc fashion.
I would be very surprised if Florida is back to normal even by the end of summer. It is a long way off.

It is going to take years before this area is back to normal. For some there will never be normal; as they lost absolutely everything and some lost loved ones. Should we experience another hurricane, any progress that has been made will be gone. Some are still without electricity and internet. Some people are going to be hurting if we even get a strong tropical storm.

Everybody here pretty much knows I support Trump, but too many people are placing too much emphasis on a 30 point lead this far from election day.
Of course Trump has a 30 point lead at this point. At this point,he is the only one running.
This is NOT going to be a cakewalk. Especially not with the RINO's and the Dims doing everything they can do to cheat so the Dims win.
