What Army cuts mean for 82nd Airborne Division cavalry squadrons
By Rachael Riley, The Fayetteville Observer
 May 17, 2024, 11:51 AM

This article was published as part of a content-sharing agreement between Army Times and The Fayetteville Observer.

As a result of the Army announcing job cuts earlier this year because of force restructuring, the 82nd Airborne Division will lose its cavalry squadrons, while gaining a combat vehicle test unit, the division’s commander said this week.

Maj. Gen. J. Patrick Work spoke about the cuts during a video interview from Europe on Monday.

“It’s affected over a thousand of our paratroopers,” he said. “We take it very seriously and make sure that each of them are getting taken care of and understand the next several dance steps in the process.”

Takeaways from the voyage to Gaza for the US Army’s watercraft program
By Christopher G. Pernin and Lt. Col. Joslyn Fleming
 May 16, 2024, 09:00 AM

When the U.S. Army’s largest watercraft, LSV-1, cast off for Gaza in early March, it marked the start of a momentous journey. This voyage, followed by the deployment of several additional ships loaded with equipment to establish a pier and parts of a modular causeway system, represents a significant portion of the Army’s mission-critical, intra-theater lift capability.

The ships are now in place, and the mission has sparked a wave of discussions, debates and potential misconceptions about the Army watercraft program’s strategic positioning and future.

The question today is: How much does the deployment to Gaza help — or hinder — the future of Army watercraft writ large?

The primary objective of this voyage was to construct a pier in Gaza, a mission that was expected to involve between at least 500 and 1,000 troops and take approximately 60 days. The task is particularly daunting, given the lack of existing port infrastructure in Gaza. Despite the complexities, President Joe Biden has assured the public that no soldier would be on shore, which is likely one reason the Army watercraft program’s specific capabilities were selected.

Lawrence Taylor Ditches Democrats For Trump

Lawrence Taylor is changing teams.

The former Super Bowl winning New York Giants linebacker is ready to switch from the blue jerseys to the red ones,
after announcing that he's all in on former President Donald Trump, - despite being a lifelong Democrat.

"I grew up a Democrat, and I’ve always been a Democrat," Taylor told reporters while appearing at a Trump campaign
rally in New Jersey.  "Until I met this man [Trump] right here. He will not have to worry about anybody in my family
ever voting for a Democrat again."

LAWRENCE TAYLOR IS ALL IN ON RE-ELECTING DONALD TRUMP

LT was joined on stage by his former Giants teammate Otis Anderson as the two African Americans showed that every
Trump supporter isn't a "racist, MAGA nut job" as the media would like you to believe.

What irks the anti-Trumpers the most is that it's not just Lawrence Taylor feeling that the modern Democratic Party is
abandoning them, but many across the country. LT is right when he says that this isn't the same Party that he grew up
with. And just like moving on from a head coach when he's not cutting it anymore, sometimes a team has to do what is
right for the entire organization.

Lawrence Taylor follows a recent trend of NFL personalities getting into politics. Be it Aaron Rodgers seemingly calling
out everything, to Hershel Walker's unsuccessful bid for the Georgia Senate, athletes are increasingly expressing
themselves and sticking by their beliefs.

For some, it can be a major headache, as Kansas City Chiefs' kicker Harrison Butcker is currently experiencing. But for
those that followed football in the 80s and early 90s, you know all too well just how much of a wild man and athlete he
was on the field who, frankly, "never gave a…"

There's no way that Democrats are going to be able to intimidate

I'm still going to take the @roamer_1 approach.  Larry Hogan can drop dead.  Don't need another 'Mitt Romney'.

Bleep them all!!

Biden’s Impeachable ‘Foreign Oil’ Policy

One long string of ‘quid-pro-quos’ that have led to international wars and terrorism.

May 17, 2024 by Daniel Greenfield

Five years after Trump was impeached over accusations that he pressured Ukraine for political reasons, Biden is pressuring Ukraine for political reasons with no impeachment in sight.

Recent reports in the UK’s Telegraph and Financial Times suggest that Biden is demanding that Ukraine stop attacking Russia’s energy infrastructure because he’s afraid of the impact of high energy prices on the presidential election.

“Mr Biden reportedly raised concerns with Kyiv that the bid to damage Russia’s oil production capacity could have repercussions for his re-election campaign,” The Telegraph reported.

“Nothing terrifies a sitting American president more than a surge in pump prices during an election year,” The Financial Times quoted a former White House energy adviser as saying.

Similar reports have started to appear in other European media outlets including Politico.

Whatever one thinks of the Russia-Ukraine War, Joe Biden’s re-election prospects are an illegitimate and impeachable reason to be conducting a war or any foreign policy.

And this is not a unique event.

Joe Biden Faces Serious Trouble in Maryland
Sarah Arnold

Voters are not happy about where the country is heading as the Israel-Hamas war continues to spell bad news for President Joe Biden’s re-election chances.

In Tuesday night’s Democrat Primary election, ten percent of people who went to polls voted “uncommitted” rather than support Biden.

The pro-Hamas, anti-Biden movement is beginning to affect the president ahead of the November election, causing headaches for the Democratic Party.

“Although ballots are still being counted, the ‘uncommitted’ vote count in this year’s Democratic presidential primary election is already tens of thousands of votes higher than in the 2020 elections,” the group Listen To Maryland said in a press release.

In the weeks leading up to the primary, the group organized an effort to get people to vote “uncommitted”— and it worked.

Army soldiers not impressed with Strykers outfitted with 50-kilowatt lasers, service official says
“They will tell you everything and they're not worried about your feelings,” said Doug Bush.

DE MSHORAD

WASHINGTON — Earlier this year the US Army sent four Stryker-mounted 50-kilowatt laser prototypes to the Middle East for soldiers to test out against aerial threats. Initial feedback is rolling in and it’s not overwhelmingly positive, according to Army acquisition head Doug Bush.

“What we’re finding is where the challenges are with directed energy at different power levels,” Bush told members of the Senate Appropriations airland subcommittee on Wednesday. “That [50-kilowatt] power level is proving challenging to incorporate into a vehicle that has to move around constantly — the heat dissipation, the amount of electronics, kind of the wear and tear of a vehicle in a tactical environment versus a fixed site.”

Dubbed the Directed Energy Maneuver Short-Range Air Defense (DE M-SHORAD), the service tasked Kord Technologies with integrating a 50-kilowatt class RTX laser onto a Stryker to down class one to three aerial drones and incoming rockets, artillery and mortars. In total, four prototypes were produced, and Breaking Defense first reported that all four were sent to the US Central Command (CENTCOM) region in February.

Thank you.

I am pretty much outa here anyway. Too much of masturbatory circle jerk echo chamber. Even when presented with facts that contradicts their narrow misinformed view (in many cases  not all)  it's your a Troll lol

What is scary that even when presented with facts they refuse to believe any different. I have admitted here numerous times I was wrong when presented with research.

This is why I have become an independent.

No problem...

Admit that I posted my reply BEFORE reading all the replies...just that right out of the gate, you were called a "troll".

Don't leave.  They're just a protected class here at TBR.

Even the owner felt the need to warn @sneakypete to stop the insults...yet the reason he went into lurk mode is because the same half-dozen pets in here are given free passes.

We're expected to STFU and turn the other cheek...and like you, I'm getting sick of it.

How about sticking with 155's and others that have proven to work and be effective?
