Mike Pence’s Group Sends Memo Defending Trump Tax Cuts As Senate Weighs Action

Former Vice President Mike Pence’s group Advancing American Freedom (AAF) is sending a memo to congressional offices on Wednesday praising the Trump-era tax cuts, the Daily Caller News Foundation first learned.

AAF is sending the memo, obtained by the DCNF, to every congressional office arguing the 2017 Tax Cuts and Jobs Act (TCJA) grew household income and lowered marginal tax rates. Many of the TCJA’s provisions are set to expire at the end of 2025, while the Senate has yet to take action on a bipartisan tax deal passed by the House earlier this year.

“The 2017 Tax Cuts and Jobs Act provided the greatest tax relief for hard working Americans since the Reagan Administration. Despite doom and gloom projections from the media, the data is clear: American families won,” AAF Chairman Marc Short told the DCNF in a statement. “TCJA delivered more dollars into the pockets of American families than ever before while growing the economy, increasing federal revenues, and delivering a corporate tax rate more competitive with other global developed economies.”

The Republican-controlled House passed the Tax Relief for American Families and Workers Act of 2024 back in January, which was negotiated between GOP House Ways and Means Committee Chairman Jason Smith and Democratic Senate Finance Committee Chairman Ron Wyden.............

I am glad to see the governor's pushing back.

We need to continue to vote in as many conservative governors as possible -- I think this is currently more important than seating a Republican president.

The Swamp Always Wins: Mike Johnson Expects to Lead House Republicans After Election

Wendell Husebø 8 May 2024

Embattled House Speaker Mike Johnson (R-LA) expects to remain the GOP House leader after the November elections, he told reporters Tuesday.

Johnson appears to feel entitled to the post despite forming a coalition government with House Democrats.

He faces a motion to vacate the speakership on Wednesday after allowing Democrats to seize the House to pass President Joe Biden’s campaign promises. Democrats are pleased with Johnson’s willingness to help pass Biden’s agenda. In turn, Democrats, such as Rep. Nancy Pelosi (D-CA), and establishment Republicans are expected to help Johnson to remain in power.

If Johnson survives the motion to vacate, he will likely lead the Republican House conference through election day. His chief responsibility is to help Republicans maintain control of the House. Johnson’s chances of success appear narrow to slim, according to the layout of the electoral map.

Texas Gov. Abbott calls National Guard, Space Force proposal a 'power grab'

Texas Gov. Greg Abbott opposed a proposal that could shift members of the Air National Guard to roles in the Space Force without the consent of their respective governors.

In a letter to President Biden, Abbott, who has clashed with the commander in chief on a number of matters, said the proposal is an "intolerable threat" to the National Guard.

"That proposal would give the Secretary of the Air Force unilateral authority to transfer Air National Guard units to the Space Force — without first obtaining gubernatorial consent," Abbott wrote in the May 3 letter. ..............

If it proves to be a valuable asset, it likely will be canceled by the Pentagon. :pondering:

Real Science Lessons shows readers the plethora of information refuting Darwinian evolution and climate change.

These are a fraction of the overall scientific refutations of the two biggest scams in contemporary *science*.
The evolution and climate change frauds can only be maintained by supporters continuing to censor, while refusing to admit that they were wrong.

Computers / Re: CANBUS Sniffers?
« Last post by Weird Tolkienish Figure on Today at 01:15:58 pm »
I believe there's partial documentation, although each manufacturer also has proprietary codes.  One can also use an ODB reader to correlate events with a known result to traffic on the CANBUS.  Then there's always the old peek/poke method of figuring out what's what - push a button that does action A, then see if you can discern the CANBUS message the device sent in response to that button push.

Some OBD2 readers are OBD2 only, the set of standards implemented by the government. Some readers interface with OBD2 and canbus, and some advanced (expensive) readers like Snap On can actually interface with a lot of manufacturer's custom software. Very interesting stuff.

Try looking into PLC's/smart relays if this sort of thing interests you.

Amazing coincidence. The DC Mayor and Police Chief are supposed to testify today about their refusal to enforce the law against these communists.
