When the Galveston City Council convenes for its first meeting of the year Thursday, it will immediately grapple with a decision concerning its right to regulate gun stores and gun ranges.
Council members will vote on a series of amendments to its land-development regulations overseeing gun stores in order to comply with state law and avoid the threat of a lawsuit issued last month by the office of Ken Paxton, the state attorney general.
Cleve Doty, an assistant attorney general, sent a letter to the city of Galveston on Dec. 17, asserting the city was violating state law with its ordinance prohibiting gun shops from locating within 200 feet of schools, public parks or places of worship. Doty added that a separate city ordinance limiting the noise level of gun ranges also violated state law.

Good for them, don't give an inch on gun rights cause you will never get them back.

One of the gun-grabbers' tactics is to make local laws/regs so complicated and contradictory that it's almost impossible to own a gun and comply with the various jurisdictions' laws/regs.
