Beto O’Rourke pulls ahead of Ted Cruz in new Texas poll

Democratic Rep. Beto O’Rourke pulled ahead of Republican Sen. Ted Cruz as the two face off for the latter’s Texas Senate seat, according to the results of a poll released Wednesday.
The survey from Reuters/Ipsos/the University of Virginia Center for Politics shows O’Rourke leading by 2 percentage points, 47 percent to 45 percent.
O’Rourke’s lead is well within margin of error of plus or minus 4 percentage points. The online poll, conducted Sept. 5-17, surveyed 992 people.
A Quinnipiac University poll released a day earlier showed Cruz with a 9 percentage point advantage over his Democratic challenger.
Larry Sabato, director of the U.Va. Center for Politics, said Cruz’s feuds with Trump during the 2016 presidential election tarnished his reputation with some Texas Republicans.
“That damaged him with parts of the Texas electorate that he needs for re-election,†Sabato told Reuters.
A RealClearPolitics average of recent polls shows Cruz with a 4.5 point lead over O’Rourke in the red state.

I was confused by this because we just got a poll showing Cruz up 9......until I saw that the perpetually wrong Larry Sabato who likes to keep a dead rat on his head did this poll.

Beto really comes off as an extremist and that's saying some considering the Democratic party.
I think if you met him on the street or in a bar, he'd come off as a nice guy, personally meeting him.
I think there is a bit of a perception, ginned up by the Democrats as well, that Trump seems "mean" and I read that said about Cruz as well, whether it's my understanding of him or not. I can find that article even. Anyway, I can see where they are coming from. Beto's got a smile, Obama had a smile.

Out of state liberals tooting their horns again to sway voters. Just wait for their next move...the last minute October surprise, Anita Hill type slander, hasn’t been released yet.
A sample size of 992 for the voter population the size of Texas? No mention of where the sample came from. Dallas?
Even long time DA Nico Lahood is quilting the Dems because they’ve been hijacked by the far left and Soros. Check out the Joe Pags pod cast interview him.

Nitwit. It was Trump's feud with Cruz (and everyone else) that tarnished Cruz's reputation, and that only with hard-core Trump-and-nobody-else supporters.

Bogus.....
Online polls don't mean squat. Especially considering that folks figured out how to hack them (cheat) a decade ago. That, plus the people that are hosting the poll can just "add" votes to the side they prefer as they please.

RCP hasn't even acknowledged this bogus poll. Bandwaggoning is about the only Beto tactic he has left.

When I get home at night, I usually check twitter.
Every time Ted Cruz tweets something, the Beto-loving minions come out and attack.
I started checking a few things.
When you click on their profiles, it will say where they are from, if they list it.
Of those who listed their location, the highest total of Beto-loving minions actually living in Texas I have found is 50%.
Usually, it is less than that.
The socialist around the country want Texas to turn blue so bad, they can almost taste it.
Ain't gonna happen, not in this race, anyway.

The Beto lovers I know are exclusively out-of-staters who live in San Antonio. They want to make Texas like the $h!tholes they left.

Whenever I wonder about the veracity of online polls, I remember "freeping" them in the good old days when TOS was a decent place to be.....
Don't believe them, folks. happy77

I remember, years back.... one of the "freep this poll" concerned a ChiCom poll that posted outright lies and propaganda in the poll. When we were directed to the poll, the ChiCom side was ahead. But we freepers gradually pulled the poll back to the truth (lol). I remember working late in the am skewing that poll. Vote, clean cookies, reboot, vote (rinse/repeat). This went on for HOURS until finally.... the Chinese fella running the site poll must have thrown up his hands (and I could almost visualize it), said "eff it", and added several hundred thousand votes to the ChiCom side of the poll. And that was that. But we gave them a good run for their money....lolol.

More poll dancing. And not the good kind
