A shelter for migrant teenage girls with capacity for 500 children that opened at the start of April in Houston, Texas was abruptly shut down Saturday by the federal government which moved to evacuate the approximately 450 girls living in crowded literal warehouse conditions after a volunteer died there Friday night. The shelter was run by the National Association of Christian Churches in Houston.

Journalist Lomi Kriel posted about the abrupt move and death of the volunteer, “.@HHSGov is suddenly closing an emergency influx site in Houston just weeks after it opened, reunifying 130 of the 450 minor girls with family and transferring the rest to other ORR facilities. It did not say what had prompted this.”

Migrant Girls Suddenly Moved From HHS Border Detention Facility Following ‘Incident,’ Reports Of Unsafe Conditions

Hundreds of child migrants, mostly girls between the ages of 13-17, were suddenly relocated from a Houston-area shelter, operated by the Health and Human Services department, Saturday, and the shelter was abruptly closed, according to local news reports.

“Immigrant-led organizations are searching for answers as to why officials abruptly closed a Houston-area shelter which was housing hundreds of young migrant girls on Saturday,” Houston’s ABC affiliate reported Sunday. “A flurry of activity was seen at the shelter just before the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services announced the teens would be transferred or reunited with family or sponsors, more than two weeks after the facility opened. Buses were seen leaving and arriving at the shelter, and boxes and computers were being moved by workers Saturday.”

“About 450 girls housed since April 1 in an Emergency Intake Site for Unaccompanied Children operated by the National Association of Christian Churches near Bush Intercontinental Airport were being moved,” ABC news national reported, noting that the girls were kept longer than the period of time allowed by immigration courts.‘Officials with FIEL, an immigrant advocacy group in Houston, praised the removal of the girls that FIEL director Cesar Espinosa said are 13-17 years old, but questioned the reason for the move,” ABC News noted. “Espinosa said there was an incident at the center Friday night and a FIEL employee saw law enforcement and ambulances outside the center, but could not determine what happened.”

The “incident” happened Saturday, but Houston police did not provide comment to ABC on what occurred.

Espinosa, who was among those who toured the facility last week, said that COVID-19 precautions were not being followed and that the girls being housed at the facility were packed shoulder to shoulder and forced to remain on provided cots all day, except for short bathroom and shower breaks.

‘There was really no space for social distancing … they were only allowed to get up from their cot to use the restroom as well as to shower,” Espinosa told ABC.  .  .  .

This is child abuse.  If anyone else did this, they would be facing arrest, trial, and prison sentence.  But not the Biden coup.

I haven't had much luck trying to find out who the National Association of Christian Churches is. W'pedia has nothing about them, and they don't seen to have a website. Looking at Guidestar, https://www.guidestar.org/profile/20-5077098 , they seem to be some sort of hyperbolically named Houston-based charity (not national except in their name). This news story makes them sould kind of fly-by-night.

'Treated like merchandise': Biden officials close migrant facility where girls were forced to use plastic bags as toilets

The Biden administration abruptly closed a Houston-based warehouse where government contractors were reportedly holding nearly 500 unaccompanied children in conditions described as abhorrent.

The Department of Health and Human Services announced over the weekend that it was shuttering one of a dozen emergency facilities where its Administration for Children and Families's Office of Refugee Resettlement had contracted the National Association of Christian Churches nonprofit organization to hold nearly 20,000 boys and girls who came across the southern border without a parent.

The teenage girls held inside were at times forced to use plastic bags as toilets because there were not enough adults to walk them to a bathroom, according to ABC News. Girls spent most of the days on makeshift cots and rarely got outside. Stacks of boxes were used to create rooms inside, where the girls were packed into tight spaces, risking their safety, given the coronavirus pandemic.

I assume they turned them all loose, so now they're making potty on the streets the way they did "back home."

Interesting, seems the pastor (Pastor Jose Ortega and wife who also goes by pastor). Here is video of him at this website (during Hurricane Harvey). Looks like the wife does the talking for them,

They seem very liberal... Here is a newsletter they put out on the capital protests and lets just say they were not very conservative in hiding their hatred of Trump. Note: look how many of the people that signed the newsletter were women, seems to be a trend with these churches, women leaders.

The Biden administration over the weekend shuttered a Houston warehouse that housed unaccompanied migrant children following allegations that the nonprofit organization running the site failed to provide adequate living conditions for hundreds of young girls, multiple sources familiar with the matter told ABC News.

The Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) opened the warehouse early this month in response to the surge of migrants arriving at the southern border.

Exclusive video obtained by ABC News showed buses removing more than 100 girls from the emergency intake center on Saturday. Until its closure, the facility had been run by a Houston-based nonprofit with no prior experience housing unaccompanied migrant children.
