US court stays Muslim inmate's execution over denial of imam request
A federal appeals court has blocked the execution of a Muslim inmate in Alabama after the state refused to allow his imam to be present at his death.
Domineque Ray, convicted of murdering a 15-year-old girl in 1995, was scheduled for execution on Thursday.
But his lawyers argued that the state infringed on his religious rights by denying his request for an imam over a chaplain during the execution.

His act was gruesome apparently, remember the victim. And even for how bad the act was, it appears he is being executed 23 years after the act.

(CNN)A Muslim inmate who argued his religious rights were violated because Alabama would not allow his imam by his side at his execution was put to death Thursday night.
Domineque Ray, 42, was sentenced to death in 1999 for his part in the 1995 rape and murder of a teenage girl, Tiffany Harville, in Selma, Alabama. His co-defendant in the case, Marcus Owden, is serving life without parole.
"Due to the nature of his crime, the decision of a jury to condemn him to death and because our legal system has worked as designed, Mr. Ray's sentence was carried out," Alabama Gov. Kay Ivey said in a statement.

All I can say, is if this monster killed this girl back in 1995, do the math yourself, he was executed at 42 years old. So, he was only 18-19 years old when he did this. Sad, he threw his life away, it took a long time to bring in this justice though, it almost always takes a long time.
