For those who have it in their heads that only Democrats are talking tough to citizens about obeying social distancing orders and threatening fines and arrests amid the coronavirus pandemic, think again.

Parris is an ambulance chasing "attorney" who doesn't even reside in the city limits and is affectionately called "King Rex" in local circles...

His comments and replies have enraged many locals, but there's probably little that can be done for now as he just won re-election back in March.

In California elected officials such as mayors can be recalled. So there is something "locals" "can do" if they want.

Alles klar, Herr Kommissar?

There are despots under the stairs. I hope everyone is taking notes.

Yes, they can and probably will.  However, with the current policies in place, signature collectors for the recall petition would have a very hard time right now.  They'll have to wait a bit until the restrictions are relaxed.

Lancaster contracts with the LA Sheriff's Dept. for LE, so it would be interesting to see if any of the Deputy's would be inclined to enforce his dictates...

Wish this POS would spout his crap here in my little corner of SE Texas.

Someone could pretty easily get lost permanently in a couple of million acres of The Big Thicket.

Talked with a buddy of mine today who is a retired LA Sheriff's deputy and he said that "king" Rex is talking out of his ass pretty much.

If the LASD incarcerates someone for a violation against a municipal ordinance only, basically a misdemeanor, then the city has to pay the LASD to confine said individual.  He did clarify that if someone is arrested for a felony in conjunction with other violations of municipal ordinances, then the County pays as the felony is the presiding cause of incarceration.

So, as long as people just gather and protest the "king" and don't engage in any felonious behavior, then it's highly doubtful anyone is going to see the inside of a jail cell.

But it's good to see the "king" with no clothes so to speak.

By Jim Hoft

The right to assembly was at one time a US constitutional right.
Not today.

27-year-old Naomi Soria is facing criminal charges after she organized last week’s downtown San Diego protest.

Soria faces up to 90 days in jail for organizing the protest and a $1,000 fine. ...More at Gateway Pundit (https://www.thegatewaypundit.com/2020/04/27-year-old-san-diego-woman-faces-90-days-prison-organizing-anti-lockdown-protest/?utm_source=Twitter&utm_campaign=websitesharingbuttons)

Yes, she looks like a threat to public safety.  :pondering:

In case one hasn't yet figured it out, Jim Hoft of GP is highly skilled at writing provocative, clickable headlines and three paragraph one day  stories.

But he isn't John Soloman, Sarah Carter, Woodward or Bernstein. ie. ie investigative reporter.

As best I can find, she claims she was told by SDPD she'd be arrested and charged. But she was not arrested, and has not been charged.

Yeah, Hoft is not good at fact-checking tantalizing stories.
