Title: Video: Joe Biden Has New Shoes, and People Are Asking Questions
Post by: American Girl on March 14, 2024, 01:27:59 pm
Did they turn his shoes into hovercrafts?

This is probably the best they can do to stage Biden as physically capable.

Biden wears shoes with cushioning that are convenient to put on and take off? Scandal!!!

That older people often have foot problems was a revelation when they invented old people. I've been wearing Hoka "balanced" cushioning, Mizuno Wave series, and New Balance "Fresh Foam" running shoes for years. To have a tempest in a teapot you first need a teapot.

The emperor’s new shoes: Biden gets some timely help to stay on his feet
March 18, 2024 | Tom Tillison

President Biden’s handlers are pulling out all the stops in their quest to keep up appearances with the 81-year-old geriatric president, including new shoes.

In addition to Biden’s fading cognitive abilities, there are growing physical challenges that can no longer be ignored, like how he walks and concerns about falling.

“Some advisers have told him he should walk faster out of concern that his gait feeds impressions that he’s too old. And yet the White House is sufficiently worried about him tripping that he has taken to boarding Air Force One via a shorter staircase through the belly of the plane, forgoing the iconic image of the president waving from the main doorway high above the tarmac,” NBC News reported over the weekend.

RNC Research took note of an Inside Edition report about new kicks for the president, tweeting: “Biden’s handlers are forcing him to wear a new pair of ‘lifestyle sneakers’ because he trips so much.”

Existing thread about this, https://www.gopbriefingroom.com/index.php/topic,526619.0.html .

LIEden is wearing Skechers shoes that are easy to put on and have good cushioning. Big whoop! As I posted in that thread:

ETA: Other news reports state that the brand LIEden has been seen wearing is Hoka. As noted above Hoka sells on the open market (if I can buy them, anyone can). Hoke has three grades of cushioning, "Responsive", "Balanced", and "Plush". I've found that the "Responsive" is insufficient for me (I have plantar fasciitis), but the "Balanced" is fine. I still see no reason for LIEden wearing comfortable shoes being some kind of political or fitness issue.

A new revelation! Looking at the info in a PJMedia about this faux-gotcha-Biden, I've been able to figure out what LIEden's new shoes probably are, https://www.hoka.com/en/us/mens-road/?prefn1=shoeRide&prefv1=plush&prefn2=shoeStability&prefv2=stable . Some information the PJMedia person clearly did not understand:

* These are "Stability" type shoes. This refers to the angle of runners' and walkers' ankles as they run or walk, not slip prevention.

* These are "Plush" cushioning, designed for runners and walkers with on-again-off-again problems with plantar fasciitis or Achilles tendonitis, hardly a problem peculiar to aged people.

Sorry folks, this is a failed gotcha. For my part, if the "Balanced" Clifton series of shoe become insufficient cushioning, I'll keep in mind Hoka's Gaviota series shoe.
