Military’s novel floating pier arrives in Gaza amid security concerns

U.S. soldiers and sailors have stabbed an aid pier into a Gaza Strip beach, a capability known as Joint Logistics Over-the-Shore, or JLOTS. (DOD)
Since President Joe Biden announced during his State of the Union address that the U.S. military would build a humanitarian aid pier on the Gaza Strip, and that “no U.S. boots will be on the ground” in Gaza, Keith Robbins and other retired military logistics officers have been watching.

And on Thursday, after weeks of preparation, security planning and weather delays, the Pentagon announced that a trident pier had been stabbed into the Gaza beach.


The pier is essentially an erector set-like assembly of metal pieces built at sea and sitting close to the water that can assume a variety of lengths depending on the mission requirements.

If a 2.66 percent boost is implemented, it would likely increase monthly payments by around $50 for most recipients.

Is that whopping $50 before or after the Medicare payment increase? I can't help wondering how much of a food/housing/medical/phone/ etc. benefit increase I will be funding for illegal aliens(or better known as future democrat voters)?

There has been a long running meme about seniors having to eat cat/dog food because of high costs...well cat food has more than doubled and dog food has tripled so not only won't seniors be eating it, they will be hard pressed to feed the pets they sorely need. Thank goodness Joe and the democrats...with a big assist from republicans are such good financial stewards for the American people illegal aliens. How long until the democrats get back on the euthanasia for the old and infirm train? They must be very envious of Trudy and Canada.

Lockheed running out of parking space amid F-35 delays, says watchdog

Lockheed Martin is running out of space to store undelivered F-35 Joint Strike Fighters as the jets’ upgrade effort remains behind schedule, the U.S. Government Accountability Office said in a report released Thursday.

Furthermore, the F-35 program’s testing capacity is stretched thin and will worsen once the Technology Refresh 3 software upgrade and the Block 4 update are ready, GAO found.


TR-3 involves a slate of improvements for the aircraft, such as improved cockpit displays, better computer memory and more processing power. TR-3 is needed before another group of more in-depth upgrades, known as Block 4, can be installed on the F-35. Block 4 will allow the jet to carry more weapons and provide upgrades to its electronic warfare capabilities.

My sarcasm tag was simply because humans need to adapt.  This rock has had hot/cold periods.  Humans have repeatedly pushed back into "stone ages" due to extinction events.

It's probably why subterranean bipedal species are hundreds of thousands of years are more advanced than surface species.   :laugh:

Equatorial climates are obviously expanding, while the polar regions remain somewhat stable.   :shrug:

The current land mass called the United States will be the prime exporter of dates and figs.   :laugh:

Illegal Immigrant Arrested for Attempted Murder Committed in Brazil 35 Days After DOJ Released Him in Arizona

Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) announced on Monday the arrest of an illegal immigrant from Brazil. The agency explained the man has been wanted in Brazil for attempted murder since October 2023.

ICE additionally confirmed the man, whose identity the agency withheld, entered the United States through Arizona’s southern border and was eventually apprehended for deportation in Massachusetts. He will remain in the agency’s custody until he is removed from the country.

The agency reported that U.S. Border Patrol first encountered and apprehended the Brazilian national (pictured above) in March “after he unlawfully entered the United States near Lukeville, Arizona.”

While Border Patrol initiated removal proceedings, the U.S. Department of Justice (DOJ) issued the man a notice to appear in court at a later date. The Brazilian national was “subsequently released on an order of recognizance.”

Actually, probably some time after Strom posted his article, at least some Trump-Haters on MesSNBC also dumped on Cohen.
