We all wondered what they would come up with. After Biden's "very last" disastrous trip to the Middle East, his handlers realized that they have to do 'Basement Joe 2.0'. So they came up with Covid for his last few weeks in office. Thinking, if they can't see him, and he never speaks, it will be just like the election. In a tweet late Thursday morning, former Trump White House advisor Dr. Sebastian Gorka, Ph.D., predicted that “based upon the information I just received,” Vice President Kamala Harris “will be President before the midterms,” which take place November 8, 2022.
Also on Thursday morning, the White House Joe Biden tested “positive” for COVID-19 after a “negative” result on Tuesday.
“This morning, President Biden tested positive for COVID-19,” the statement begins. “He is fully vaccinated and twice boosted and experiencing very mild symptoms. He has begun taking Paxlovid. Consistent with CDC guidelines, he will isolate at the White House and will continue to carry out all of his duties fully during that time.”

The stunning announcement that President Joe Biden has tested positive for COVID despite being fully vaccinated and boosted after his own insistence that those who had received the jabs were not going to get the virus had his media defenders looking to avoid discussing that inconvenient fact by putting a political spin on his affliction, one of whom was Yamiche Alcindor who played the Trump card.
NBC News’ Washington correspondent sought to explain the big difference between Biden and former President Donald J. Trump who also came down with COVID, suggesting that the current White House occupant will be more respectful than his predecessor, especially when it comes to wearing a mask during a Thursday MSNBC appearance.
“Yeah, and, think about the fact that we now have two U.S. presidents in a row that have had tested positive for COVID. And I think what we’re gonna see here is likely a different sort of approach to it,” she said. “Let’s remember his predecessor took off his mask even though it was sort of in the period where he could’ve possibly infected other people. He didn’t want to talk about getting vaccinated at the White House.”

The White House is carefully controlling the optics of President Joe Biden’s coronavirus infection after he tested positive for the virus on Thursday morning.
The president has not appeared in public since his infection, choosing instead to publish carefully staged and edited photos and videos on social media created by his White House staff.
The president has not appeared in front of the press pool that monitors his activity or been filmed by outside media cameras.
The White House released a video of Biden speaking to the camera, expressing confidence about his health despite getting infected.
“I’ve been double vaccinated, double boosted, the symptoms are mild,” Biden said, urging his supporters to “keep the faith.”
“I’m doing well, I’m getting a lot of work done, I’m going to continue to get it done,” he said.

“The president does what every other person in America does every day, which is he takes reasonable precautions against COVID but does his job,” White House Chief of Staff Ron Klain told MSNBC late in the afternoon on Thursday.
It was a day that began with Biden’s COVID-19 results and included repeated assurances over the coming hours that the president was hard at work while isolating in the residential areas of the White House with “very mild symptoms” including a runny nose, dry cough and fatigue.
Biden, in a blazer and Oxford shirt, recorded a video from the White House balcony telling people: “I’m doing well, getting a lot of work done. And, in the meantime, thanks for your concern. And keep the faith. It’s going to be OK.”
“Keeping busy!” he also tweeted.
On Friday, Biden was scheduled to meet virtually with his economic team and senior advisors to discuss congressional priorities.
It was all part of an administration effort to shift the narrative from a health scare to a display of Biden as the personification of the idea that most Americans can get COVID and recover without too much suffering and disruption if they’ve gotten their shots and taken other important steps to protect themselves.

O’Connor said that Biden’s temperature has returned to normal after treating the fever with Tylenol and that the president continues to experience a runny nose, fatigue, and an occasional cough.
“His voice is deeper this morning. His pulse, blood pressure, respiratory rate and oxygen saturation remain entirely normal, on room air,” O’Connor wrote.
The physician said that Biden is tolerating the antiviral Paxlovid “well” and that he would continue the course as planned.
The letter is the first update from Biden’s physician since Thursday morning, when he wrote a letter detailing the president’s symptoms and treatment after he tested positive for COVID-19.
Biden is up-to-date in his coronavirus vaccinations, having received his second booster in March, and began the Paxlovid treatment on Thursday.

President Biden’s COVID-19 symptoms have “improved” but he ran a 99.4 degree fever on Thursday evening, his physician Dr. Kevin O’Connor wrote in a memorandum on Friday.
O’Connor said that Biden’s temperature has returned to normal after treating the fever with Tylenol and that the president continues to experience a runny nose, fatigue, and an occasional cough.
“His voice is deeper this morning. His pulse, blood pressure, respiratory rate and oxygen saturation remain entirely normal, on room air,” O’Connor wrote.
Sounds like Biden got it a lot worse than I did. But then I didn't compromise my immune system by introducing an immunosuppressive agent four different times. And I treated it with a proven drug that creates a mechanism for zinc to enter the cells.

The White House on Friday abruptly cut a live stream camera feed of President Joe Biden after reporters questioned him about his health.
White House staff put Biden on a live stream video camera for reporters during an event on gas prices, as they continue trying to reassure the country that the president is working and in good health despite getting infected by the coronavirus.
Staff cut short audio and video of the live-streamed event after reporters started shouting questions, asking him how he was feeling after getting infected with the coronavirus.

The president flashed a thumbs up before the feed was cut.
The live stream event was held at the president’s imitation White House video set across the street in the Executive Office Building.
The president appeared on-screen at a desk and took off his mask before speaking.

“Let me start by apologizing for my voice. I feel a lot better than I sound,” he said, clearing his throat and coughing a bit.
The president tested positive for coronavirus on Thursday morning, but so far, staff has only released White House images and videos of the president working and talking to Americans about his health.

17 people determined close contacts to Biden

Seventeen people were identified as close contacts to President Biden, who has tested positive for COVID-19, including senior staff members and members of Congress.
No senior staff have tested positive for COVID-19 but they are all taking precautions recommended by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC). Additionally, no members of Congress and no members of the press have tested positive.
“None of the staff members have tested positive to date. And all of them are wearing masks around other people,” White House press secretary Karine Jean-Pierre said on Friday.
When asked if anyone else who is considered a close contact has tested positive, Jean-Pierre said, “our protocol is to only share if someone has had close contact to the president.”
On Wednesday, Massachusetts Sens. Ed Markey (D) and Elizabeth Warren (D) and Reps. Jake Auchincloss (D) and Bill Keating (D) traveled with Biden on Air Force One for the trip to Somerset, Mass.
The results come after the White House medical unit went through the process of figuring out who were close contacts between Biden’s positive test on Thursday morning and Friday afternoon.
White House officials said on Thursday that First Lady Jill Biden and Vice President Harris were already considered close contacts to Biden.
Harris spoke at a conference in D.C. on Friday and White House COVID-19 Coordinator Ashish Jha was questioned about her not always wearing a mask during the event and for hugging someone at it.

President Biden has developed body aches and a sore throat but is tolerating the Paxlovid treatment for COVID-19 well, his doctor said Saturday.
Dr. Kevin C. O'Connor, physician to the president, said preliminary sequencing indicated Biden has contracted the BA5 variant, the most common coronavirus variant in the U.S. right now.
"President Biden completed his second full day of PAXLOVID last night," O'Connor said. "His symptoms continue to improve. His primary symptoms, though less troublesome, now include sore throat, rhinorrhea, loose cough and body aches."
The president is undergoing treatment with Paxlovid, which is currently authorized for the treatment of "mild-to-moderate COVID-19." The antiviral drug has been proven to curb the worst effects of the disease, showing positive results of direct viral testing for those at high risk of progressing to severe COVID-19, according to the Food and Drug Administration.
Biden is supplementing his Paxlovid treatment with oral hydration, Tylenol and his albuterol inhaler which "he uses as needed for cough," his doctor said.

It's a 5 day treatment which is a minimal time frame; risky yes. For someone who has had a stroke treating him for A-FIB is tricky because taking blood thinners can also make him prone to brain bleeds which could trigger a stroke.
Bottom line. Joe is not in good health, obviously dementia is taking hold and he should have never taken the oval office and needs to step down -- of course all of us realize this.

The White House continues releasing updates on President Joe Biden’s health after his positive test for the coronavirus on Thursday.
The president’s physician Dr. Kevin O’Connor released a note Sunday outlining Biden was improving although he still had a sore throat.
“This is most likely a result of lymphoid activation as his body clears the virus, and is thus encouraging,” the note read.
Biden also experienced symptoms of a runny nose, cough, and body aches and continues to have a hoarse voice, the doctor noted.
O’Connor also revealed that Biden uses an albuterol inhaler to treat his cough.
White House COVID-19 Response Coordinator Dr. Ashish Jha told reporters Friday that Biden does not always use an inhaler to treat his cough, but has used one in the past when he has gotten sick.

President Biden’s COVID-19 symptoms are almost completely resolved, his physician Kevin O’Connor said in a memorandum released by the White House on Monday.
The president, who completed his fourth day of the antiviral Paxlovid on Sunday evening, only has residual nasal congestion and minimal hoarseness, O’Connor said.
“His symptoms have now almost completely resolved. When questioned, at this point he only notes some residual nasal congestion and minimal hoarseness,” O’Connor wrote. “His pulse, blood pressure, respiratory rate and temperature remain absolutely normal.”
O’Connor added that this oxygen saturation on room air is “excellent” and his lungs are clear.
The president’s physician on Saturday said that Biden likely contracted the BA.5 variant, which makes up the majority of COVID-19 cases in the United States. At the time, Biden’s symptoms were a sore throat and body aches.
Biden, who is vaccinated against COVID-19, tested positive for the virus on Thursday. O’Connor said on Monday that Biden continues to tolerate Paxlovid “well” and the president is “experiencing no shortness of breath at all.”
He also “continues to be very specifically conscientious” to protect people in the residence, White House staff and Secret Service agents who have to be close to him, O’Connor said.

Joe Biden has been re-infected with COVID after taking an anti-viral drug that leaves patients running a 40 per cent risk of flare-up of the virus shortly afterwards.
Taking Paxlovid leaves COVID sufferers in danger of testing positive for the virus again very quickly after clearing their initial infection.
When Paxlovid came to market in December 2021, studies from Pfizer indicated that only 1-2 percent of patients who took the drug tested positive for Covid again shortly after finishing their dosage.
But other experts say the rapid reinfection rate is closer to 40 per cent, and that Paxlovid can cause this issue by suppressing patients' immune systems too early, meaning their own bodies are unable to get a handle on COVID.
Dr. Jonathan Reiner, a prominent cardiologist and professor of medicine and surgery at George Washington University Hospital tweeted: 'I think this was predictable.'
He continued: 'The prior data suggesting 'rebound' Paxlovid positivity in the low single digits is outdates and with BA.5 is likely 20-40% or even higher.'
In a memo released by the White House, Dr. Kevin O'Connor said that the president will continue to isolate, just like he did when he first tested positive on July 21.
Dr. O'Connor also said that the president would not be prescribed Paxlovid again. . .

I checked last time I was in Tractor Supply Co., plenty of apple flavored paste available. However, a sign clearly displayed that it was not for human consumption. :whistle:

Yeah, well... You can call your vet and tell em that you have horse paste laying around... and ask them for the dosage for your dog or your cat, and they'll tell you. We never buy dog-wormer.
So obviously it ain't rocket science. You just have to get over the inference that it works on every other animal except for hoomin beans (because science).

If you squeeze some into a tablespoon and cover it with honey, you can hardly taste the 'ass'. Highly recommend.

There was still 2 horses, two ponies, and five (i think) minis down at Ma's, not counting the dogs... which we are quickly running out of... Since then the horses moved on, and the ponies too. Ma is cutting back. I reckon the minis will die there though.
Anyway, at the time, having a case laying around was not a lot.

Now we got a kinda cowboy hobo village going on. Everybody is losing their leases due to land sales... And no way to buy because the market is inflated. Currently there's a family of six with 4 dogs living in a fifth wheel in the upper pasture behind the barn. With 4 horses.
Before them (and kinda during) there was another camped out in the creek bottom - Family of 4 in a 24' tandem camper with two horses and three dogs.
All of them were there along with all ourn for the 4th...
We already have the barn stuffed full of hay just trying to keep everyone fed.
Hoping to get everyone out of there for winter, but there's another 5th wheel and 4-horse trailer coming in next weekend. :shrug:

But folks are getting forced off and no where to go. Many would head down toward y'all... But with OK and TX drought stricken and KS, MO not much better, there ain't much of no where to go. The feller living there now has 200k in his pocket and can't buy... They are waiting around looking for an option in the west, but look like they are heading for Penn. The feller that's already gone is on his way to WI.
The guy coming just got kicked off and don;t have a clue where he can go.
It's a dang crying shame. Lease buy-outs have a boilerplate eviction notice for if the land changes hands... That's what's going on. The kids of the feller that's there now have never known any but the 250 acre spread they were raised on.
And how do you move a barn full of critters in 90 days.?
So they wind up at our place and the like... pared down as best they can... But still a long way to go. Selling horses and getting rid of beloved dogs ain't an overnight proposition.

That ain't what's happening here... This is folks coming out of the cities paying 3x what the land is worth. Speculators are buying large tracts... Ranch land close in... And cutting it up. Busting em up into 5 and 10 acre gentleman 'farms' ... Roads and services, and cutting a fat hog on all the city folks trying to get out.

It's a crying shame. But we are seeing more of it than most I suppose, what with our place winding down. Most places that are under full operation could not spare the room.
It's dang hard to lose an acreage. Just folding our place up from the leased land we used to operate was disastrous - in a planned execution over years - These folks got a 90 day notice and that's all.

You are right, the GOP may win some seats and may even hold a majority this November, but it is absolutely meaningless without good, conservative leadership.
It is truly hard to be optimistic.

That's fine to each his own. I suspect that you are correct @corbe I don't think things are going to get much better. We have prepared for years, primarily dodging hurricanes. When the pandemic hit and we couldn't go into the banks, paper towels and toilet paper were no where to be found and well, you know the rest of the story.... we continue to prepare as best we can as well. The future looks pretty dismal and it is difficult to prepare for the unknown. I certainly never anticipated a stolen election, a pandemic, skyrocketing prices, a defunct president and a clown for a VP.
