Anti-Israel UCLA protesters request shields, helmets, vegan and gluten-free donations after violent campus clash

The anti-Israel protesters hunkered down on the grounds of the University of California, Los Angeles put out a bizarre list of requested donations Wednesday — with some “urgent” items that seemingly indicate the mob is preparing for battle.

Skater helmets, shields, wood for barriers and elbow and knee pads were among the much-needed tools requested by the school’s Students for Justice in Palestine to sustain its so-called UCLA Palestine Solidarity Encampment.

The mini-tent city — which erupted in chaos Tuesday night when agitators tried to infiltrate the grounds — also asked for a medical stockpile, food and sleeping bags in a Google Doc shared on social media.

I wouldn't give them anything.  Why meet their demands? How about they meet the demands of others? Leave. Quite simple.  Leave and don't come back.

It will be Entertaining as h3ll to watch the Trumpers here and elsewhere twist themselves into a pretzel to
defend Tulsi's liberal voting record, just as they did the NY liberal 8 years ago, should he pick her.  I don't think DJT is that stupid, but he's surprised me before with his picks.

Did the Army Really Stop Training Helicopter Pilots to Fund the Israel-Taiwan-Ukraine Foreign Aid Bills?
streiff

The US Army Aviation Center of Excellence at Fort Rucker Novosel, AL, may have had as much as $130 million of its $140 million training budget taken away, resulting in the cancellation of training for US helicopter pilots for the foreseeable future. Why did this happen? If the source is to be believed, and as I show later, there is no reason to doubt the source, DOD directed that training for Army helicopter pilots cease so the money could fill gaps in the recently passed Israel-Taiwan-Ukraine foreign aid package.

The story broke from two sources. On "X," formerly known as Twitter, a training team leader posted an email to his(?) team giving them the bad news.

    Team,

BLUF (short for "bottom line up front"): Funds have been pulled from our flying Hour Program, we will be without funds to continue flying FSXXI as soon as 01May. Our funds have been pulled by DOD for allocation to Ukraine and other foreign obligations.

An Instagram account, terminalcwo, has more details and some jargon translated. It obviously relies heavily on the original email, but the writer claims to have verified the story and developed some plan details from his own sources.

On May 1, USAACE will be without funds to continue Flight School XXI. The funds have been allocated to “Ukraine and other foreign obligations” according to official messaging. There is currently a plan of action at G3 Air that may delay this until May 15. There are exceptions to this:

    - Graduate POl (i.e. D/1-14*h) will continue to fly.
    - Flight School IERW FMS students will continue to fly. Their funding has been pre-paid by host countries.
    - Students will continue to go through Academics at Merryman.
    - LCT periods will continue.

While training has been discontinued, students will be required to continue reporting to the flight line for accountability. There will be no A940/ATP training flights. Dept of Army Civilians and contractors will continue to be paid without furlough.

It’s unknown how long training will be discontinued. The Army will likely move money around to continue training before the end of the fiscal year, but this is speculation. Several officials are also dismissing the significance of the school shutting down for new pilots due to the already high number of WO1s and LTs in the force.

The lack of funding follows on the heels of an unprecedented number of aviation mishaps in FY23. Defense News wrote, “Fiscal 2023 marked the highest death rate for Army soldiers since the U.S. withdrew from Iraq in 2011, with a total of 14 dead across 10 accidents, formally known as Class A mishaps, meaning accidents that result in the loss of life or the loss of equipment totaling more than $2.5 million.”

Do people evaluate a politician’s record when making their decisions or do they just listen to what said politician tells them?

Or is this just simply a case of, if she’s on Trump’s list for VP that’s enough and pay no attention to her far left voting record?

More evidence MAGA is more of a cult of personality and not an ideological movement

CNN’s Bash: Antisemitism in U.S. ‘Hearkening Back to the 1930s in Europe’

Pam Key 1 May 2024

CNN host Dana Bash said Wednesday on her show “Inside Politics” that the pro-Palestinian protesters harassing Jewish students on college campuses shows rising antisemitism in the United States, which she said was “hearkening back to the 1930s in Europe.”

Bash said, “We start with destruction, violence and hate on college campuses across the country. This was the scene just a short while ago at the University of Wisconsin, Madison. Police clashing with protesters. Twelve people were arrested. Hours earlier, protests rocked the University of Arizona, where campus police used chemical irritant munitions to remove protesters. Around the same time, at UCLA, pro-Israel and pro-Palestinian groups were attacking each other, hurling all kinds of objects, a wood pallet, fireworks, parking cones, even a scooter. And before that, the NYPD was able to clear Columbia University after protesters barricaded themselves inside a campus building. Three hundred people were arrested at Columbia and City College of New York. But it is unclear how many were actually students. New York City Mayor Eric Adams warned this morning that professional outside agitators are getting involved.”

She continued, “Many of these protests started peacefully with legitimate questions about the war, but in many cases, they lost the plot. They’re calling for a ceasefire. Well, there was a ceasefire on October 6, the day before Hamas terrorists brutally murdered more than a thousand people inside Israel and took hundreds more as hostages. This hour, I’ll speak to an American-Israeli family whose son is still held captive by Hamas since that horrifying day that brought us to this moment. You don’t hear the pro-Palestinian protesters talking about that. We will now protesting the way the Israeli government, the Israeli prime minister, is prosecuting the retaliatory war against Hamas is one thing. Making Jewish students feel unsafe at their own schools is unacceptable, and it is happening way too much right now.”

After playing a clip of a Jewish student being blocked from entering UCLA, Bash said, “What you just saw is 2024, in Los Angeles, hearkening back to the 1930s in Europe. And I do not say that lightly. The fear among Jews in this country is palpable right now.”

Anti-Israel protesters who have set up an encampment on the campus of the University of California, Los Angeles are asking supporters to donate various items to help them sustain their acts of disobedience, including vegan food, gas masks and EpiPens.

A Google document posted online by Students for Justice in Palestine at UCLA shows a list of much-needed items wanted by the protesters at the so-called UCLA Palestine Solidarity Encampment.

"We will not leave. We will remain here until our demands are met," the group said in a statement.

The list includes airsoft goggles, knee and elbow pads, utility gloves - without reinforced knuckles – bright flashlights with strobe, rope, zip ties, skater helmets, shields, wood to construct a barrier and non-steroid inhalers.

Also needed is "hot food for lunch" and gluten-free food. Packaged foods, coffee, bagels, bananas and nuts are specifically not wanted.

The list of needs goes on to request sleeping pads, various types of batteries, electric and solar-powered generators and Aquaphor, a brand of over-the-counter skin ointment. Sunscreen is not desired, according to the list.

Organizers are requesting that donors make sure the items comply with the Boycott, Divestment and Sanctions (BDS) movement, which promotes boycotts, divestment and economic sanctions against Israel.

"Did they all throw out their iPhones to meet BDS compliance?" Stop Antisemitism, a nonprofit that fights antisemitism, posted online in response to the list.
