Eudora Welty’s Christmas Eggnog
A family holiday recipe

“I haven’t given a thought to Christmas,” Eudora Welty wrote to her agent Diarmuid Russell in 1947, “except where to get a little whiskey for the eggnog. Better stir the brain.” Nevermind a casserole: Welty’s signature offering was a strong pitcher of nog. “We could always depend on that,” says her niece, Mary Alice White. “Eudora always brought it.”
Welty inherited the recipe from her mother, Chestina, who in turn gave credit to Charles Dickens. ...

My eggnog
Carton of eggnog ice cream
Jug of liquid eggnog....mix couple of scoops of ice cream with about a cup of the liquid...add a shot or two of bourbon...mix in blender...I like mine thick like a shake and top with nutmeg...yum
