So, why is Pelosi having a vote on sending the Articles of Impeachment to the Senate? I've never heard of the House doing this before. They already approved the Articles.
-
It looks like the Impeachment bill is handled just like any other bill.

They voted on the articles of impeachment (charges) now they have to vote on the "package" to pass it.

Nope. Not buying it. That never happened in previous Impeachments, this is new. And I have yet to hear of a Bill requiring a separate vote to transmit. Once a Bill passes the whole House, that's it.
-
This is not an 'impeachment'.
I don't know what it is, but it is certainly not an impeachment process.
This something new, that the Dems are 'making up'.
In the prologue of the Articles themselves it is clearly written, These articles will be voted on and then passed to the Senate.
Pelosi and the Democrats are violating their own articles of impeachment which they themselves wrote!
This whole thing is freaking Bizarre!
-
I have never heard of having a vote to transmit a bill after having already voted on it.
That's because it doesn't happen!
Nan is grasping at straws.
-
Nancy is having a vote on transmitting Impeachment Articles because she's not playing with a full deck.

:yowsa: No vote to begin the inquiry but voting to transmit that which has already been approved. I rest your case.
-
Is it any wonder I'm confused? Everybody wants @corbe's weed.
-
Every Republican should vote 'present', neither voting for or against. It is a nonsense vote. Better to not go along with the charade.
-
The weirdest part of all of this is that the "vote" doesn't matter at all.
McConnell is going to proceed with the trial anyway, no matter what the House 'votes'.
-
Is it any wonder I'm confused? Everybody wants @corbe's weed.
Nah. Corbe only has ditch weed. I buy kind bud, or medical.

She is washing her hands of it... in a Caesar-like fashion.

Good observation. That sounds likely.

Right. This is just another departure from procedure.
It's done, and she realizes she no longer has anything to threaten POTUS with.
-

More like Pontius Pilate

You misspelled "siezure-like".

There ya go again... :silly:
-
This is a power-play by Pelosi. She is attempting to establish in perpetuity that the House is more powerful than the Senate.
She wants to obviate the Senate. What she does not know is that the Senate will proceed, with or without Pelosi.
-
Whole lot of win in this thread. I was late to the party and can't add a witty quip to anything.
Well except, Don't smoke weed with Willie or Corbe.
-
I added the "Screwing Bernie again" option.

Indeed it does. A mental picture that's been seared, seared! in my mind since I found out that Washerwoman-Shultz did it for Hillarious in '16.
-
I find myself in the majority. It was the most accurate choice.
I think Miss Nancy realized that holding on made the Dems' doom worse.

She is washing her hands of it... in a Caesar-like fashion.
A very, very good possibility @roamer_1

Why are republicans legitimizing this COUP on president TRUMP? IT IS A HOAX. MCCONNELL WHAT IS WRONG WITH YOU?
Error 404 (Not Found)!!1 (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vJgbdusw014#)
-
McConnell is a sleaze bag, always has been.
-
None of this stuff matters. at al.
The Senate will proceed with the trial regardless of what Pelosi says or does.
She is done at this point. She has presented articles of impeachment.
Ok.
So now, Go away.

Ok, got it... the system is broken...
The question is, how do we fix it?
How do we make our elected representatives more accountable?
How do we force the courts to do their job correctly?
How do we get legislation in place to give agency heads the authority to fire these career employees that are behind the coup?
We don't even respect each other so how are we going to get our elected representatives to respect the constitution or those of us they disagree with?
We have tons of folks getting rich off of telling us the system is broken but no one but Trump is trying to fix it.

@Cyber Liberty
Thanks for that information - now I know why you never make any sense. :yowsa:
About this upcoming vote to send the package to senate:
The house passed rules at the beginning of this determining the procedure they would use. That could account for this upcoming vote as this vote is also to elect the "managers" who will present the evidence. The managers are likely already selected but a vote accepting them will make a permanent record.
I have a problem with John Bolton - If he has direct evidence of what happened, if he was there, then speak it and why not have already said what he knows? This dancing around of his means I am not buying his book.

San Fran Nan has indicated she wants to add stuff to it that did not clear a Committee, so there may be some court issues with whatever passes tomorrow. She resides in a State that has that legal weed that explains much. :yowsa:

She wanted a press extravaganza. Handing out ceremonial pens. She wants to be president and she's gonna take out the two rungs above her one way or another.

Without a doubt that is her goal and objective. Ceremonial pens though? The pens have her name on them! I think she's lost her marbles. How is she going to look once President Trump is acquitted? Has she even considered that possibility? Gee maybe this is why she held up sending that articles of impeachment over to the Senate -- she was waiting for her order of pens to arrive.

I was getting my car serviced and FOX news was on -- I couldn't believe that Nancy was quoting various different people as well --she has made this impeachment process about an extravaganza about herself -- she thinks this makes her famous. :rolling:
As I've said, it's always been our founders, when they started, “When in the course of human events it becomes necessary†-- when.
Abraham Lincoln – “Four score and seven years ago.â€
Thomas Paine, 'These are the times that try men's souls.'
Again and again, even our poets, Longfellow -- "Listen, my children and you will hear/Ofthe midnight ride of Paul Revere/On the 18th of April 1775/ Hardly a man is now alive/That remembers that famous day and year."
It's always about marking history, using time. On December 18th, the House of Representatives impeached the president of the United States. An impeachment that will last forever.

Nancy,
To get back to the warning that I've received, you might take it with however many grains of salt you wish, that the brown acid that is circulating around us is not specifically too good. It's suggested that you do stay away from that.

Back in the day in DC, when a particularly high potency batch of heroin would hit town, DC General would begin filling up with overdose cases. The local news channels would make a public service announcement about the ODs, naming the product (e.g Black Madness) and the area where it was purchased (e.g 7th and P Streets). Within 15 minutes, every junkie in DC would be at that corner trying to score some of that Black Madness smack.

Why do you think they call those things "Public Service Announcements"?

One thing is clear. Corbe's weed is a gateway drug on this thread. Only the second page, and we are already up to acid and smack.

Exactly as I intended when I included the standard "weed" option in the poll. :police:

I remember hearing about a bad batch of LSD called "sunshine pills" in DC and over to the Eastern Shore, where whoever made them up put too much strychnine in them and the trip would last forever...The radio was crammed with PSAs to NOT take them...

Sounds right. The Hygrometers for the battery and antifreeze were in the top of all toolboxes back then.

They put those stupid bubble eye thingies on the battery's about that time.
edit I still have a antifreeze reader. I don't know why in hell...but I do. I guess I like to see all the balls float up to tell me I am protected to 50 degree above zero!

My brother had those tools, back when cars had points, coils, condensers and distributor caps you had to turn to set dwell (God save ya if you didn't tighten the setscrew tight enough!). Why did the engine always run like shit when you set dwell to the correct spec for "off dead center?" Craftsman was the best!
(I hate the Oxford comma.)

I have a jar of blinker fluid next to a bottle of R-12 refrigerant near a muffler bearing on a shelf in my garage.

I still have a dwell/tachometer and I use to drop a lot of purple microdot but believe it or not, 'Orange' mescaline was my favorite, very mellow.
Might explain my TDS to this day.

IIRC, R-12 is still worth money (I have a couple of cans).
I know it went from $99/tank to $999/tank overnight.

Did you have a Dodge Stealth or a Mitsubushi 3000GT?

My baby sister reads here, she was surprised at what a 'druggie' I was, she informed me today when she came up to see our Maw.
I said "SiS, It's the Internet, don't believe what you read".

I preferred the orange, too. I did the blue microdot exactly twice before I said, "Uh, no." I have to remember wayyyy back to that Dead concert I went to.

I'd guess it's the Mopar.

Yeah. I hated that 50 year after Pearl Harbor, a guy could still get nailed by a Mitsubishi coming out of the sun...
-
Oh boy. Lots to digest before I answer. The purple microdot was a trip though. Got kicked out of a gocart track in Elk Grove Village after a dose of those. It was so much fun.

We rented the tweaked ones. It wasn't our fault. So we bump drafted two 10 year olds into the tires on a turn. I mean, come on...they deserved it..

Drank a lot of Tea back in the day as @Hoodat brought up. Somehow got past the taste but never really enjoyed the 'high', just preferred chemicals back then, I guess.

****drummer
I had a Mitsubishi-made Dodge Colt back in the late 70s. HATED it ... sluggish as Hades unless newly tuned up. Barely maintained 40mph heading south on the Sunol Grade on I-680.
-
Never got into Speed either. I've always been somewhat hyper without it, though I sold a TON of Mollys back in the day, Qualudes, Reds, yellows and 3gr Trees were my downfall. Met Coke to late in life to really enjoy it because of the fear of Strokes/Heartattacks.
