Not as easy as you think. The Wuhan flu was a great educator.
Right here where I am, I could come up out of my driveway, and if I turned right to go into town, it was all masks and closed stores and businesses - More than half of them at its worst - But if I turned left instead, and wandered around, everything was pretty much as always... To include outlying gas stations and the feed and ranch stores.
I have already opined, loudly and often, on how all the parts houses closed down - Even online. Parts systems were largely defunct. Certainly so locally. Retail was likewise pretty much shut off. Even in systems that were still open and trying, the ranch store, say, many, many things were just not available.
So it ain't just food. And boy was it a hard go.

IF the UN were to come in with their 'armies' rounding up people -- it doesn't truly matter. The only glimmer of hope I see is resistance from our own military, but with all this wokeness, I don't know what would happen.
(Keep in mind, that I believe in the conspiracy theory that the U.N. has had 'armies' in place for some time and is waiting to help take over the U.S.).

No way they have enough armies to take the Rockies. Or the West. Midwest, maybe, South, probably... But without they take the West, the rest would stand too.
The tricky part is cutting the West off. And they tried it some, cutting off west coast ports. And that is a trouble.

Bumping .... Iran was mentioned. Now we are battling them and Lord knows how many sleeper cells are just waiting in the dark.
If our grids go down, being self-sufficient is going to be the key to surviving. Being able to keep cool during hurricane season is going to be problematic for us. We never put in a pool here and in that scenario it would be welcome (fairly clean water source and a way to cool off) :shrug: Everything else we'd be ok for quite awhile.
