This past March, President Obama granted 17 pardons to convicted felons who had committed crimes ranging from drug dealing to embezzlement to pirating cable TV. This brings the total number of pardons issued by President Obama since taking office to 39 – an amount that’s actually well below the rate of many of his predecessors.
