Dozens of people are dead after a group of masked gunmen stormed a concert hall in Moscow and set the building on fire.
At least 40 people are dead and over 100 people have been evacuated from the Crocus Music Hall in central Moscow after masked gunmen stormed the building and appeared to set it on fire with multiple explosive devices.
Video footage from the scene show the building engulfed in flames, and there are still people trapped on the roof.
Helicopters have been deployed to extinguish the flames and attempt to rescue those still trapped

What we know about the Moscow concert attack
Men in camouflage broke into a Moscow concert hall and opened fire, shooting an unknown number of people, Russia’s prosecutor general said.
TASS, Russia’s state-owned news agency, and RIA Novosti are reporting that Russia’s FSB security agency has put the preliminary casualty count at 40 dead and more than 100 injured.
A fire also started inside Crocus City Hall, a large concert venue northwest of central Moscow. Video captured chaotic evacuation efforts and helicopters were dumping water on the blaze.
Firefighters have evacuated about 100 people from the basement of the building and efforts are underway to rescue people from the roof, Russian emergency officials said.
A popular rock band was scheduled to play what appeared to be a sold-out show at the venue, which has a maximum capacity of more than 9,000 people.

Flames leapt into the sky and plumes of black smoke rose above the venue, Reuters pictures and video showed.
Russian media reported a second blast at the venue and there were reports that some of the gunmen had barricaded themselves somewhere in the building.
The shooting appeared to have begun at a concert of the band “Picnic.”
“Suddenly there were bangs behind us – shots. A burst of firing – I do not know what,” one witness who asked not to be named told Reuters.

ISIS has claimed responsibility for an attack at a large concert hall in the Moscow area that left at least 40 people dead and nearly 150 injured on Friday.
The attack began when gunmen donning combat gear burst into Crocus City Hall, where concertgoers were gathering to hear the Russian band Picnic, and opened fire.
The gunmen also threw explosives inside the concert hall during the attack, which set the building on fire, Russian media reported.
People were being evacuated, but some remained trapped inside the burning building, Russian media said.

Crowds of people were attending a concert by Picnic, a famed Russian rock band. The hall is able to accommodate 6,000 people. Russian news outlets said people were being evacuated from the venue, but an unspecified number of people could have been trapped inside.

Russian state-run media on Saturday released videos of law enforcement agents interrogating three men suspected of carrying out the deadly attack on a Moscow region concert hall the night before.
Russia’s Federal Security Service (FSB) earlier on Saturday announced the arrest of 11 people, including four suspected assailants, in connection to the attack on Friday.
In one of the interrogation videos, shared by the RIA Novosti news agency, a man could be seen lying face-down on the ground as another man, whose identity was not revealed, held him by his hair so that he faced the camera.
The man holding the detainee’s head asked: “What did you do in Turkey?”
“There [in Turkey] my documents expired, I crossed the border here,” the detainee said, possibly referring to his passport.
He then identified himself as Fariddun Shamsutdin, adding that he was born on Sept. 17, 1998.

In a third video, another man detained by law enforcement agents identified himself as Rajab Alizadeh.
A man off camera asked him: “When you fled from Moscow, you had weapons. Where did you throw them? There or here?”
Alizadeh, whose face and shirt were covered in blood and whose head was wrapped in medical gauze, said “somewhere along the road,” but could not recall exactly where he and his accomplices left their weapons.
An unverified graphic video shared online showed what was said to be Alizadeh lying face down on the ground as Russian law enforcement agents cut off his ear, which, if confirmed, could explain why the man’s head was wrapped in bandages in the interrogation video.

Last Friday, terrorists attacked Moscow’s “Crocus City Hall” music venue, killing over a hundred people. My condolences to their families. Within a day, leaked footage showed a suspect getting his ear cut off and being made to eat it. Additional footage showed a suspect in great pain with electrical equipment attached to his genitals.
It was the type of gruesome footage from which we tend to turn away. We form our private opinions and don’t discuss them. I fear the silence allows some observers to regard this as extreme but effective justice. Perhaps people will tell themselves the word that has justified centuries of Russia’s self-inflicted tyranny: “order.” Marquis de Custine wrote 200 years ago, “Officially, such brutal tyranny is called respect for unity and love of order.”
To say nothing about the dangers of presumptions of guilt and unconstrained authority, this episode points to important differences between Russia and the West, which most of us do not understand and, I fear, cannot understand. But I will try to explain them anyway.

That is a HELL of a lot cheaper and more effective than increasing the size of your army,and truthfully,saves you a BUNCH of money you WERE spending on providing them with food,housing,medical care,etc,etc,etc.
I wish America would try that. Maybe send a few hundred thousand to China?

I know how to change that ASAP, stop the flow of American dollars by illegals going to their shithole of origin. That'll put such a huge crimp in their economy that Mexiwont will become Mexiwill. Or put a huge surcharge on monies sent by the illegals and use it to build the damn wall. Why Russia seems to have ignored both warnings is anyone's guess.
