NYC Mayor Eric Adams: The World’s Migrants Have a ‘Right’ to American Jobs
John Binder
10 Oct 2023
New York City Mayor Eric Adams (D) traveled to Latin America last week, suggesting that the world’s migrants have a “right” to jobs in the United States — regardless of the impact on working and middle class Americans struggling to re-enter the workforce.
During his trip to Mexico, Ecuador, and Colombia this past weekend, Adams sought to ask would-be illegal aliens not to travel to the sanctuary city of New York City, saying there is “no more room.”
That message has seemingly fallen on deaf ears as migrants traveling through Mexico told the Daily Mail that they are planning to make the journey up to the U.S.-Mexico border and head northeast to New York City.
At the same time, while in Colombia, Adams suggested that the world’s migrants deserve a “right to work” in the U.S. regardless of the impact that mass immigration has on the job prospects and wages of Americans.
“When you look at Colombia they have really shown how to absorb individuals into their societies, and one of the most important ways to do it is to allow people to work,” Adams said:
Nothing is more humane and, nothing is more American than your right to work, and we believe that is a right we should extend.

Yeah sure they do, oh except for the one fact that democrats choose to ignore...it is illegal to knowingly hire and illegal and it has been the law for decades that all prospective hires must fill out an I-9 form and provide proof that they can be legally employed.

Let's see what the fool has to say when illegals start running against him for mayor (https://i.imgur.com/Ko44PMr.jpg)

Like saying criminals who enter my house illegally have a right to my stuff.
Then again this is NYC. Just a broader application of the existing policy.

No one has a right to a job. No one. A job is a voluntary exchange between two people where both parties realize some benefit from the exchange. Neither party holds any right over the other to compel that party to involuntarily make said exchange.

Um, Mayor? Did you happen to check out yesterday's New York Post?
Only 2% of the 140K migrants who have come to NYC have applied for work permits (https://nypost.com/2023/11/10/metro/2-of-the-140k-migrants-who-came-to-nyc-have-applied-for-work-permits/)

Only about 2% of the tens of thousands of migrants who have poured into the Big Apple since the asylum seeker crisis started have actually applied for work authorization permits, the latest data shows.
Roughly 3,200 asylum seekers in New York City have filed the required paperwork needed to start earning a legal paycheck — some 18 months after the relentless migrant influx first began, according to figures provided by City Hall.
1,495 of those work authorization applications have been filed through the city’s Asylum Application Help Center since the facility opened back in June, the figures show.
Meanwhile, another 1,700 work applications were submitted last month when the Biden administration sent Department of Homeland Security staffers to Gotham for a two-week stretch to help speed through the bureaucratic process. ...

Why get a work permit when it means giving up a free hotel room, free phone, three square meals a day, free healthcare, free education, and free spending money? They are much better off financially not working, which is the reason they came here to begin with.
