Democratic Rep. Joaquin Castro of Texas said he is not ruling out a possible run at Republican Sen. Ted Cruz’s senate seat in 2018.
Speaking to Fox News Latino after a panel discussion on Latino voting on Tuesday in downtown Philadelphia, Castro neither confirmed nor denied that he planned to take on Cruz in two years.
"I've said before, I'll take a look at all opportunities that come up in 2018," the 41-year-old congressman said.
During the Voto Latino panel, which also included Rep. Joe Kennedy III of Massachusetts, Castro sidestepped the question as well.
"I don't know if I'll ever be a senator, but I know [Joe] will," Castro said.
Castro's comments to FNL came only hours after an interview aired on "CBS This Morning," in which he hinted at his plans for the senate seat and a week after Cruz delivered a controversial speech at the Republican National Convention in Cleveland, refusing to endorse his party's presidential nominee, Donald Trump, and all but announcing his candidacy for president in 2020.
Castro and his twin brother, Secretary of Urban and Housing Development Julián Castro were making the rounds at the Democratic National Convention, and of Philadelphia, on Tuesday, stumping for the party's nominee, Hillary Clinton.

I hear what you are saying but here is my concern and the reality of the matter; in the event that Hillary takes the nomination (and I see it as highly likely) there is a very strong probability that amnesty will be granted. Most of those granted amnesty will more than likely vote DEM. We are talking millions of new DEM voters. The Castro stooges' mother was a Chicana political activist who helped establish the Chicano political party La Raza Unida, So the bigger picture and my fear really is with the increased influx of new DEM voters, you could very well see states like TX turn blue. It may very well be one of the reasons Clinton didn't select him as VP; he would be more valuable to the DEM party as a DEM Senator in a state like TX. Not good. Not good at all.

This is excellent news for several reasons as
1. Anything Castro spends will be liberal monies not spent elsewhere.
2. In a head to head faceoff between Hispanics, it will establish once and for all that Hispanics are predominately not liberal, but conservative, especially in social views, and most especially here in Texas.
3. It is always good to have someone named Castro be struck down.

3. It is always good to have someone named Castro be struck down.
TX is no doubt very conservative, but I can't see millions of illegals who have been given amnesty by the DEM party in turn voting GOP; especially when they have someone to vote for with strong connections to La Raza. I believe you will see some Hispanics that are legally here voting GOP, but they will be outnumbered by those new Latino Americans who were just given a free pass. This has always been the primary reason behind the push for amnesty; millions of new DEM voters. Once amnesty is granted there will be a huge push by the DEMS and LaRaza to sign up as many new voters to their party as possible. I've seen the push in my area to sign up illegals; all that was required to vote was valid identification. I was absolutely infuriated when I noticed (big sign displayed) a Sam's Club card was considered valid identification. I even called the local Supervisor of Elections to complain and another Supervisor of Elections in a different county - both claimed they were acting within the parameters of election laws at the time.
