Gary Sinise is a national treasure. No matter how many times his Lt. Dan Band has played in Arizona (dozens!), playing for the military “never gets old.”

Actor Gary Sinise and his 13-member Lt. Dan Band have performed in Arizona at least 15 times since the band’s founding in 2003. But the thrill of playing for military families, veterans and the first responder community — most recently on April 28, 2024, at Luke Air Force Base in Maricopa County — never gets old.

“I always love coming to Arizona,” Sinise, best known for playing Lt. Dan on the film Forrest Gump and Mac Taylor on the CBS series CSI: NY, told We Are The Mighty. “I have great memories here from the 80s when my parents lived in Cave Creek.”

The New York City Police Department released a video showing a professional "protest consultant" who was seen on other social media videos instructing a mob of anti-Israel agitators as they took over Hamilton Hall at Columbia University overnight Monday.

New York City Mayor Eric Adams spoke about outside agitators during a press conference Tuesday evening.

"What should have been a peaceful protest, it has basically been co-opted by professional outside agitators. We were extremely cautious about releasing our intel information because our goal was to ensure the safety of the students, the faculty, and without destruction to property," Adams said. "We have sounded the alarm several times before about external actors who attempted to hijack this private protest."

Adams and members of his administration shared information about the outside actors who were creating "serious public safety issues" at the protests.

“I don’t think she is proving to be, no,” Johnson said Tuesday on NewsNation’s “The Hill,” when asked if he believes Greene is a “serious lawmaker.”

“I don’t spend a lot of time thinking about her,” the Speaker continued. “I got to do my job, and we do the right thing, and we let the chips fall where they may. That is my philosophy. That is how we are governing.”

His defiance comes ahead of a scheduled news conference Wednesday morning, in which Greene is expected to address her motion to vacate resolution, which she initially filed in late March. But, for weeks, the Georgia representative has declined to force a vote on the motion, even after Johnson championed more aid for Ukraine, which she opposed.

Despite her effort, Democratic leaders announced Tuesday that they would provide the votes to shield Johnson from a potential conservative coup, prompting Greene to vow to bring her resolution to the floor. Still, she did not say when it would happen.

100% true... Moscow Marge is not a serious lawmaker. I think the performative theatre that is going on by Moscow Marge and her ilk needs to stop.

Delta Force Selection: The Day K2 Ran 10 Miles With a Bullet Wound in the Leg
by George E. Hand IV

My Delta Selection class gifted the Unit with ten U.S. Army Rangers. K2 was one of the ten. He spoke very little, but his Ranger brothers spoke for him:

“Yeah, well, there’s strong, and then there’s K2 strong,” was a catchphrase among the men. I just didn’t get it. As I saw it, he was medium in every way: medium build, personality, intelligence, spirit.

I just didn’t see where the super strength part came into play; perhaps I eventually would.

In my day, the Unit was a fairly even split, with half of the men coming from the 75th Ranger Regiment and the other half, including me, from the Green Beret Groups. To us, the Rangers were rigid meatheads. To them, we were lazy and cheaters. I sheepishly agreed with the Rangers‘ assessment of us Green Beanies — in fact, it is the principal reason why I left the Groups to vie for a position with Delta.

Biden cancels student loans for art students as total cost of forgiveness could exceed $1 trillion

The Biden administration has announced another round of canceled student loans, this time for $6.1 billion for 317,000 former students of the Art Institutes.

“This institution falsified data, knowingly misled students, and cheated borrowers into taking on mountains of debt without leading to promising career prospects at the end of their studies,” President Joe Biden said in a prepared statement.

Biden compared his approach to that of “my predecessor,” former President Donald Trump, who he said “looked the other way when colleges defrauded students and borrowers.”

However, conservatives and budget hawks argue it is taxpayers who are being hurt by Biden’s approach, as any loans that are not repaid will be added to the public debt.

The nonpartisan Committee for a Responsible Federal Budget released an estimate earlier this week that the combined total cost of Biden’s multifaceted student loans programs will cost between $870 billion and $1.4 trillion.

In new interview Trump details second-term plans for use of military in immigration enforcement, questions value of NATO

TRUMP: ‘I WOULD HAVE NO PROBLEM USING THE MILITARY’: In an extensive interview published in Time magazine yesterday, former President Donald Trump said one of the priorities of a second term would likely involve the use of National Guard troops to assist law enforcement in rounding up millions of immigrants who are in the country illegally for deportation.

“We will be using local law enforcement. And we will absolutely start with the criminals that are coming in,” Trump told Time’s National Politics Reporter Eric Cortellessa. Trump envisions a series of mass deportation camps that would require military support. “I think in terms of the National Guard. But if I thought things were getting out of control, I would have no problem using the military, per se,” Trump said. “We have to have safety in our country. We have to have law and order in our country. And whichever gets us there, but I think the National Guard will do the job.”

“The Posse Comitatus Act says that you can’t deploy the U.S. military against civilians,” Cortellessa noted. “Would you override that?”

“Well, these aren’t civilians,” Trump responded. “These are people that aren’t legally in our country. This is an invasion of our country — an invasion like probably no country has ever seen before. They’re coming in by the millions. I believe we have 15 million now. And I think you’ll have 20 million by the time this ends. And that’s bigger than almost every state.”

Fox News Removes Docuseries on Hunter Biden After Lawsuit Threat

Wendell Husebø 1 May 2024

Fox News removed its Hunter Biden docuseries Tuesday after the first son threatened to sue the network.

“This program was produced in and has been available since 2022,” the network told reporters in a statement. “We are reviewing the concerns that have just been raised and — out of an abundance of caution in the interim — have taken it down.”

Hunter’s legal team asked Fox News last week to remove “hacked” and “intimate” images from its news site or risk a lawsuit, along with its miniseries, “The Trial of Hunter Biden.” The show reports Hunter’s business activities.

“FOX knows that these private and confidential images were hacked, stolen, and/or manipulated digital material,” Hunter’s attorneys wrote in a letter last week.

“While routinely defaming and disparaging Mr. Biden, FOX has simultaneously sought to profit by the unlawful exploitation of Mr. Biden’s image, name, and likeness for commercial purposes and reprehensible dissemination of salacious photographs depicting Mr. Biden,” the attorneys continued.
