Sen. Ted Cruz has agreed to be the Republican speaker at the annual Gridiron Club dinner in 2014. The dinner, at which members of the Washington establishment media and its invited guests eat, listen to humorous speeches and watch skits, is set for March 8.
Cruz will be the second prominent Texan in two years to speak at the white-tie event. In 2012, Gov. Rick Perry used the dinner as an opportunity to begin remaking his image after his presidential campaign flopped. In his remarks, he called the campaign "the three most exhilarating hours of my life."...
