Our son's friend found a dog this past weekend and our son is fostering the dog until the owner can be found. Thought it wouldn't hurt to share here.
The dog is not chipped and had no collar. He's housebroken, and knows several commands; it's obvious that someone loves this dog. He is very sweet.
If the owner cannot be found they will turn it over to the Great Dane Society.

Is it a Great Dane, then...
an image or a description would be good.

Sorry @TheMom, but that ain't a dog, its a horse.
Seriously though, I have 2 hounds, a Beagle and a Fox hound that will run whenever they get the chance.
I live close, by Jess Pirtle and Eldridge, and I've had my dogs get as far as Kempner High School once and Hwy 90 another time, before good Samaritans picked them up and called me.
I hope you find the owners.

apparently my Firefox is the problem
-
Dang, he is bigger than Tommy.
-
They have contacted many of the lost dog networks. There are a lot of people that want to take the dog for themselves, but the son & wife are having none of that.
He is quite skinny so may have been on his own for awhile.
And I agree, that is a horse. That dude is huge! They are calling him Clyde, which is short for Clydesdale.

Yep, I even have a pecan and an oak myself!

No owner has been found. They are giving the dog to a friend; the search for the owner will continue.

Thanks for the update.

So . . . the friend came over today to pick up the dog. He already has two dogs and brought them with him to meet their "new brother".
Here's the narrative as told by my DIL - 'The two dogs are small; a chihuahua and Jack Russell type thing. Both of them were steady humping the big dogs leg. I'm gonna have to get a steam cleaner to clean my carpet because I'm sure there's dog jizz all over my carpet. I have no doubt that those two little dogs are gay, which is funny because so is my friend. Don't think the little dogs will have much luck turning Clyde gay'. :silly:
