Yeah, I had to go look it up.  Should have known it was something about queers.

I saw the movie.  Liberace literally remade the guy's face into his vision of the perfect man and he ended up addicted to prescription pain pills, then Liberace kicked him to the curb and he danged near killed Liberace as a result...

I saw it too.  My wife and I liked it.  We thought it was so cheesy it was good.  Michael Douglas played it tongue in cheek and over-the-top, and it worked as a tragi-comedy.

I agree with you and your wife.  I would say Douglas deserved the win.

We don't get HBO or the other "premium" channels and never watched any of the nominated shows, apparently. Good thing we had the debacle of a Steelers game to watch instead!

I remember Merrit Wever from her roles on Law & Order and Law & Order:CI, where she always did a nice job. Her imdb blurb does make her seem a bit nutty, but probably not more than any other thespian.

Jim Parsons Calls Boyfriend Todd Spiewak His "Favorite Person on the Planet" in 2013 Emmys Speech
Yahoo (http://omg.yahoo.com/news/jim-parsons-calls-boyfriend-todd-spiewak-favorite-person-013000783-us-weekly.html)

So sweet! A 2013 Primetime Emmy isn't the only prize Jim Parsons is taking home on Sunday, Sept. 22. The Big Bang Theory actor, 40 -- who beat out Don Cheadle, Louis C.K., Alec Baldwin, Jason Bateman, and Matt LeBlanc for Best Actor in a Comedy Series -- was also lucky enough to win the heart of longtime boyfriend Todd Spiewak, whom he acknowledged during his acceptance speech at L.A.'s Nokia Theater.

After rattling off the names of his costars, family, and manager, Parsons gave one last shout-out to his love of more than 10 years. "[Thanks] to my favorite person on the planet, Todd Spiewak," he said into the mic.

The three-time Emmy winner has been with Spiewak for more than a decade. He quietly came out as gay during an interview with the New York Times in May 2012. Of Parsons' role in The Normal Heart, writer Patrick Healy wrote: "The Normal Heart resonated with him on a few levels: Mr. Parsons is gay and in a 10-year relationship, and working with an ensemble again onstage was like nourishment, he said."

The actor has not spoken much publicly about his partner, but Spiewak has been by his side at several awards shows and other events. Parsons also thanked Spiewak in his 2011 Emmys speech.

Has anyone here ever watched Modern Family? Is it worth watching? I see they now have it on USA network.
