As much as I enjoy fish and steak, I also get plenty of fruits and vegetables

I’m not real keen on these all carnivore diets. People who defend them point out that that’s what our ancestors ate. But your ancestors died at 30.

Actually, that's inaccurate. But it doesn't matter. This info is mostly for me. Since we don't have profile pages on this board, I am using this thread as mine. Anyone else who is interested can feel free to tap into the information. Whoever isn't interested in this WOE doesn't have to.

An all meat, all the time, every meal, is a crime against your colon.

Meat is part of a balanced diet, but so is produce. But not all meat is equal. Processed meats should be eaten in moderation.

We are not carnivores. We are omnivores

No credible healthcare professional would ever recommend an all meat diet. But I do agree with the cutting down your carbs.

@LMAO

Respectfully beg to differ. Many carnivore doctors (3 of which are featured below) are not only recommending carnivore but they're living it. Some have had to pay a very high price by the powers that be for stepping away from the approved dietary message. Their courage is very much appreciated by those who are living so much healthier on the LCHF WOE. Some are full carnivore, others are keto and/or ketovore. But all are finding new health in this WOE. But as I said to @DefiantMassRINO, you do you.

In my research, I’ve learned that low-carb eating has either improved or reversed the symptoms of the following health concerns (in no particular order):*

Diabetes (Type 2)
Rheumatoid Arthritis (RA)
Gastrointestinal Reflux Disease (GERD)
Gum disease
Depression
Irritable Bowel Syndrome (IBS)
Multiple Sclerosis (MS)
Alzheimer’s Disease
Hidradenitis Suppurativa (HS)
Skin Tags
Non-Alcoholic Fatty Liver Disease (NAFLD)
Seizures/Epilepsy
Inflammation
Bi-polar Depression
Hashimoto’s
Stroke (recovery after stroke)
Fatigue
Brain Fog
Autoimmune Diseases
Rosacea
Eczema
Psoriasis
Obesity
Sleep Apnea
Snoring
High Blood Pressure (Hypertension)
Schizophrenia

*I didn’t have the foresight to keep a list as I researched LCHF. In all honesty, I had no idea I’d find so much health improvement! I’m playing catch-up by listing the benefits now. This list will be updated as I learn of other health issues that were improved.

Kerry of HomesteadHow documents the "greatest year" of his life. This video shows the organic nature of the growth of LCHF. It's been inspiring to hear the testimonies and watch as people move into a greater level of health. This video might be the most inspiring of all as he shows how the idea of the carnivore documentary ("Healing Humanity") was hatched and how it's being funded by those believing in the WOE.

I'll admit that I haven't read all of the threads you generously provided.

But is this diet similar to the Adkins Diet? (I did lose lots of weight when I observed that diet.)

@berdie

I'd be shocked if anyone had consumed all the material I posted! It's a LOT! I've been researching for quite a while, and doing so has required a significant investment of my time.

Yes, there is some similarity between Atkins and keto/carnivore. I don't know the particulars of Atkins, but a lot of the people who are now carnivores were once on Atkins. My BFF's son was on it. He lost a lot of weight, felt great, had energy and, best of all, got off his insulin shots. Human nature being what it is, he got sloppy with it and eventually gave up trying to get back on the wagon.

Back when I was a university prisoner with a mind ready to be molded, we had to come up with a diet plan for a diabetic. At that time, the low-fat, high carb, craze was on

That stupid food pyramid from the late 80s /early 90s was probably more responsible for making this country sick than anything the government has ever done.

I new folks who would buy low-fat or no fat processed cookies and eat the whole bag. Fat signals to your body that you’ve had enough to eat. Sugar and simple carbs do not.

Besides, as you age, you should eat more protein
