Shades of the late 60s ... except California's then-governor dealt decisively with "anti-war protesters" at SF State and UC Santa Barbara. Will current anti-Semitics hurt LIEden the way the "anti-war protesters" hurt LBJ?

Netanyahu Blasts ICC, Vows to Destroy Hamas — Deal or No Deal

Joel B. Pollak 30 Apr 2024

Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu said Tuesday that Israel would reject any attempt by the International Criminal Court (ICC) to indict Israeli officials over the war in Gaza — and that it would destroy Hamas regardless.

Netanyahu was speaking after the end of the Jewish holiday of Passover, reacting to reports that the ICC intended to indict him and other officials for alleged “war crimes” in defending Israel against genocidal Hamas terrorists in Gaza.

The prime minister added that Israel would continue to pursue its mission to destroy Hamas’s “military and governing capabilities.”

The full text and video of his statement were released by the Prime Minister’s Office:

Is anyone really surprised that it has come to open fascism? I have seen this coming for over a year.

A more accurate picture below.

:chairbang: Time after time after time after time ... after time it has been Hamas that refused "cease fire" proposals. Yet here is Blinken pressuring Israel again. One working definition of insanity is trying the same failed action over and over expecting a different outcome.

Job Openings Slip To Three Year Low

John Carney 1 May 2024

The number of job openings in the U.S. fell in March to the lowest level in three years and fewer workers were hired, data from the Department of Labor showed Wednesday.

The Job Openings and Labor Turnover Survey, known as JOLTS, showed that employers had posted 8.5 million job openings at the end of March, a decline from the upwardly revised February figure of 8.8 million.

The decline in openings suggests a moderation in the demand for labor, perhaps easing some concerns that a tight labor market could further fuel inflation.

Despite the decline, openings are still elevated compared with the prepandemic era. On the eve of the pandemic, when the labor market was already considered very tight and jobs were booming, there were 7.1 million openings. In 2022, when employers were struggling to entice workers back into positions, openings hit 12 million.

The number of people quitting jobs, meanwhile, declined to 3.3 million from 3.5 million. But private sector quits rose from 3.1 million to 3.3 million. A rising number of quits is seen as a sign that workers have confidence they can easily find better work.

The number of hires fell to 5.5 million from 5.8 million.

@240B

Yep. "Dark Brandon" was the tip-off.

As in the past, all they needed was a bunch of Jews to blame.

A soldier reenlisted while taped to a Howitzer cannon and that’s awesome
We hope this soldier also got a free four-day weekend out of the deal.

BY KYLE GUNN | PUBLISHED APR 30, 2024 5:48 PM EDT

Apair of photos posted by U.S. Army WTF! Moments on Instagram show one way the Army can improve retention. No, not beards (though that wouldn’t hurt), but with a Howitzer and a roll of “100 MPH” tape. Simple, right?

The two photos show a pair of 101st Airborne soldiers, a specialist and his battery commander, taped to 155mm M777 Howitzer gun tubes as the oath of enlistment is administered above their fellow soldiers. Normally, when a service member is taped to something like this it’s considered hazing, but in this case, it’s a sign of a motivated soldier and an officer willing to go above and beyond for their troops.

To outsiders, this might look ridiculous. While that may be true, it’s actually a well-established tradition to do absurd things when a service member reenlists, gets promoted, or even receives an award. Some consider it an informal incentive to keep up the good work, but the truth is most just use it to have some fun and get a cool pic of themselves raising their right hand.
