MARCO ISLAND, Fla. – Gov. Ron DeSantis held a press conference Tuesday to unveil the $114.4 billion “Focus on Florida’s Future” budget for 2024-2025.
The upcoming budget is less than the previous year, DeSantis said. Last year, the Framework for Freedom Budget totaled $116.5 billion.
The governor said his budget would induce a surplus of $16.3 billion.
DeSantis said the amount always ends up higher, because “the economy here does better than in other parts of the country.”
Under the budget, $455 million would be pledged to the Accelerated Debt Repayment Program.
Over 1,000 positions will be eliminated throughout the state government to “help us realign resources to focus on efficiency,” the governor said. ...
Governing philosphy that this country needs.Shouldn't that be the Orange Mendacious?
Too bad we are stuck with the Orange Menace.
Can't wait for governor Noisome to boast how much better he is doing with his plan for California :silly: Problem is one governor is trying to better his state and the other is doing his utmost to destroy his state **nononono*
Cutting back on the size of government? That's crazy talk.
Cutting back on the size of government? That's crazy talk.Yeah. Sounds like something a true conservative would do. Go figure.
Yeah. Sounds like something a true conservative would do. Go figure.
Of course everyone knows that DeSantis just copied the Orange Donny's plan for the Fed, that Ron guy must have spies in the trump campaign to come out with it first :silly: :silly: :silly: :silly:
Why anyone would select Trump over DeSantis is beyond me. What it truly boils down to is opting for a liberal who is proposing socialist plans or opting for a true fiscal conservative with a proven conservative record.

STUNNINGLY Conservative! Watch Florida bloom!

@roamer_1
Ain't you a little old to still be believing in Santa?
Especially a Santa that is a braying jackass?
Florida has seen a tremendous population boom; over 1,000,000 moved here in 2022.
Nope. I don't believe in Santa.
Why anyone would select Trump over DeSantis is beyond me.
@libertybele
ROFLMAO!
Because for most of Trump's base, it's all emotional.
Why don't you point out her errors instead of ROFLMAO
@LMAO
Because nobody is paying me to be her babysitter.
@LMAO
That's hilarious coming from someone who spends most of his free time dumping on Trump.
Drama Queen much,bubba?
You responded to her post
This is conservatism. It isn’t throwing out verbal bombs at opponents, it isn’t using the power of government for retaliation against opponents, it isnt Freedom cities and baby bonuses and God only knows what more spending, it isn’t seizing private funds from private endowments to expand government role in education, it isn’t printing currency to pay for new spending and claim that the US government can never default because we can print.
No, the above is all your boy. That’s why your only response to people here is to laugh and somehow claim they bet in Santa when it’s obvious you do. Your love and support for Trump is based purely on emotion. Your posts give you away. What the hell does “ he only cares how he’s written about in the history books” even mean?
@LMAO
If you are THAT freaking stupid,it would be a waste of my time to even try.
Nothing like ruining a perfectly good thread with childish rants. It's tiresome and petty.Considering who they idolize I would say the old "apple doesn't fall far from the tree" is appropriate. All they have are feelings and try to hold on to all the great things Trump did...and got erased because he's a bomb thrower who doesn't play well with others. So they ridicule someone who actually knows and understands how government works, builds coalitions and gets actual laws passed to achieve his goals, laws that will stand after he is out of office. They seem to be so angry because unlike the Orange Mouth of Anger, DeSantis is an actual conservative looking to cut the size of government and spending in his state while all Trump wants to is spend our children's children's children into to a life of servitude to big government..........and this is different from democrats how?

I have to disagree Mr. Woods. Ron DeSantis is not Mike Pence stupid enough to hitch his wagon to a burnt out star~Trump.

. . . Why are you all participating in the Democrats' dirty tricks playbook? If we don't pull together as a party and defeat the socialist jihad of the left, this nation is done. Wake up.

In '16 Cruz would have been a good logical choice to counter Trump's centalist populism, but after the 10 millionth Lyin' Ted Meme.......
Run Ron Run? No not to the orange meance as a VPOTUS flunky...... Disassocate yourself 100% for your own good.
Cruz lost so much stature in my mind, when he caved in and started following Tumpy. How he gets that back remains to be seen. I don't want to have to say the same about DeSantis.
Got to agree with you 100%. Before the Trump presidency, our hope he was a conservative firebrand. But like so many others, he sold out, just to get a seat at the kiddie table.

What are Ron's proposals for the federal budget?
Got to agree with you 100%. Before the Trump presidency, our hope he was a conservative firebrand. But like so many others, he sold out, just to get a seat at the kiddie table.
My hope is RDS, will lay low, and be much stronger after Trump gets resoundedly bounced in 2024. Like the earlier poster said. I just don't see anyway of him reaching 50%.
Me neither, though not as sure of that as you. Things are SO shitty, and Buydem SO unpopular that the 'lesser evil' maxim could very easily apply... But I think his legal woes will likely overcome his campaign... He's got a helluva lot of plates in the air, under oath, and guarding his words and telling the truth are both very, very hard for Tumpy to do.
What are Ron's proposals for the federal budget?
GFY.... You've dodged at least 5-7 of the questions, I've asked you the past month. You deserve no response.
So what are Trump's? Oh, never mind. We already know. His proposal is to spend spend spend like Biden.
You are kinder than I am. Her 24/7 deflection and avoidance of addressing any of the left wing Trump issues? From my POV, I'd just as soon ignore her.
Cruz lost so much stature in my mind, when he caved in and started following Tumpy. How he gets that back remains to be seen. I don't want to have to say the same about DeSantis.
Same here... Trump lied about his family, wife, kids... how could you support such a dog and rationalize it as "just politics".
Cruz lost so much stature in my mind, when he caved in and started following Tumpy. How he gets that back remains to be seen. I don't want to have to say the same about DeSantis.
Don't forget.... The MSM is so criminally complicit in the dim column, that while Rome burns, they are reporting on the happy wienier roast. And since so much of the sheeple rely on them.......
Tump was democrat not that long ago. Why is anyone surprised?

- advance an ambitious tax and regulatory reform agenda to unleash American production, increase productivity and growth, and support our families, workers, and small businesses while lowering inflation.
- reverse Biden's job-crippling and ideological regulations and executive orders on Day One.
- work to not only extend the individual tax rates and further simplify the tax code, but also seek permanence.
- seek a more competitive tax system that incentivizes long-term, domestic investment over financial speculation and short-term returns while purging the code of K Street carveouts and loopholes.
- seek to make permanent full immediate expensing, maintain territoriality, and further strengthen base erosion measures to ensure corporations are investing in America.
- use all available Article II authority to restore accountability in the executive branch, move agencies out of DC and slash the bureaucratic state, restrict foreign lobbying and post-employment revolving doors by former government officials, and ban individual stock trading by members of Congress and executive branch officials.
- reverse the federal government's attempt to force people to buy electric vehicles. We will save the American automobile.
Ending Environmental, Social, and Governance Standards and Political Engineering by Large Investors
- strengthen rules governing fiduciary responsibilities, transparency requirements, and scrutiny of firms that manage public pension funds.
Restoring Merit and Respect for the Individual as the Central Criteria for Economic Advancement
- no longer incentivize useless degrees and courses with blanket government loans. To that end, he will make universities, not taxpayers, responsible for the loans their students accrue. He will also seek to allow student loans to be discharged through bankruptcy like any other loan.
- create a fair labor market by securing the border, enforcing our laws, eliminating chain migration and the diversity visa lottery, and limiting unskilled immigration.
- appoint a Chairman of the Federal Reserve who will focus on maintaining a stable dollar instead of the political pressures of the day. The Fed must focus on stable prices; it is not a social engineer and cannot be allowed to be an unaccountable economic central planner.
- ensure that the Federal Reserve does not implement a central bank digital currency to control the finances of hardworking Americans. - block any attempts to establish a Central Bank Digital Currency or any other policies that will move us closer to a social credit system.
Where Washington has sought to regulate and inhibit innovation such as Bitcoin and other new technologies, - protect entrepreneurship from central planners who seek to stifle what they cannot control.
- require "clear language" disclosures by banks and shadow banks to increase transparency and better track systemic risks.
- support community and regional banks that bolster the economic front lines of main street America
- protect cryptocurrencies and work to end politically driven debanking and financial doxing.
- be a new sheriff in town when it comes to spending, and he will not be afraid of using his veto pen. Our government programs as they exist today are wrought with waste, fraud, and abuse, and continue to be a major drag on our economy, our budget, and the flourishing of our citizens.
- use his Article II authority to prohibit federal grants to entities that engage in active discrimination through DEI or other unconstitutional initiatives.
-
So what are Trump's? Oh, never mind. We already know. His proposal is to spend spend spend like Biden.
He, heh, heh. SWEET. Now I can vote for that... ideologically speaking... :beer:
IMHO Cruz voted for Trump for one reason and one reason only (per the Glenn Beck interview and Beck was livid) and that was to ensure that conservatives justices. were seated in SCOTUS. Supposedly Cruz met with Trump and Trump gave him a list of possible candidates. That is one reason I voted for Trump and the other reason was to ensure the Hillary didn't secure the presidency, nor did she get to decide the justices.
After Trump was elected Cruz supported him on issues that he felt were for the good of the country. Cruz urged Trump to build the wall several times; Trump ignored Cruz's advice, not only on that issue but others.
I like Cruz and still support him, though I still agree with him that we need term limits, which would probably force him to step down.
Wow, an hour has passed and RIV still has her tail between her legs without a response. I guess the bat signal from the Freeper Mother Ship most be slower than usual .
Special props to @Hoodat for that "drop the mic" moment.
And almost eight years later, not a single one of them can point out anything that Ted Cruz lied about. Not a single one. It is they who are the liars.
Tump was democrat not that long ago. Why is anyone surprised?

@catfish1957
You can't possibly be THAT stupid.
Back then Trump was a businessman living in NYC and his focus was on making money. The Dims held the reigns to government contracts and laws,so he went with the "team" that would bring him the most profits.
Prove the photo didn't happen numbnuts.
And that Tumpy wasn't a democrat as late as the ;90's. Otherwise GFY
What are Ron's proposals for the federal budget?Well we all know Trumps, spend our rear ends into oblivion **nononono*
And that Tumpy wasn't a democrat as late as the ;90's.
@HoodatJeeezUS what a lame grade school response, I guess that's to be expected considering the source **nononono*
Has he ever came out and claimed he is a hetrosexual?
@catfish1957You sure spend a lot of time defending some A-Hole you claim you wouldn't even invite in your house :silly: :silly: :silly:

It's quite lengthy @Right_in_Virginia BTW -- besides spending us into oblivion again what is Trump's proposal for the federal budget. DeSantis has a proven track record ... and Trump has a track record as well.
https://rondesantis.com/mission/Declaration-of-economic-independence/
Poor RIV, she's had a tough day.
@GtHawkodd how it's still more than you and the great orange orifice :tongue2:
You have even less.
I've seen this. I was wondering if you had. Lots of words. The only hint of substance is plagerized from Trump. Why would any rational voter wager our economic security on DeSantis --- who repeatedly tells us he'll need eight years ---- to attemp to do what Trump did and will do again in a matter of weeks?
(https://rondesantis.com/static/9cbb5c16b96e5607f32b5112b7c5426a/f2191/DECLARATION_OF_ECON_INDEPENDENCE_WIDE_35f74c1f34.webp)
???? I posted it. As far as DeSantis plagerizing Trump, where do you come up with this crappola?? :silly:
Actually, judging by the fury and personal attacks thrown at me all over the place today, I've had a pretty successful day ---- and it was easy. :laugh:
???? As far as DeSantis plagerizing Trump, where do you come up with this crappola?? :silly:
One big difference between DeSantis and Trump; DeSantis is competent and will get things done. Trump, well, very few of his economic policies stuck.
I'll take DeSantis and his accomplishments and competency over Trump's failures any day. happy77
What are Ron's proposals for the federal budget?
@Right_in_Virginia - That question has been answered. Now it's your turn. Again, what are Trump's proposals for the federal budget?
???? As far as DeSantis plagerizing Trump, where do you come up with this crappola?? :
@GtHawk
You have even less.
For heaven's sake, give your senile debating skills a rest. I posted Trump's economic plans months ago.
odd how it's still more than you and the great orange orifice :tongue2:
@GtHawkAll you have is insults for anyone that doesn't kiss the huge hiney of the Orange Orifice, just like him it's denigrate denigrate denigrate, and just like him it's old, tiresome and juvenile :pondering: maybe that's what attracts to the Orange Orifice :shrug:
You just keep telling yourself that if it what gets you through the day,bubba.
After all,some people still believe in Santa,so why can't YOU believe in "dey do ron,ron" after her made YOUR heart stand still?

@GtHawk
Insults is all anybody that supports that conniving cretin deserves.
Trump?
Trump, like Sanders and AOC, believe in Modern Monetary Theory. The idea is the US can print currency to cover spending because we control our own currency
Of course, you see the results of that throughout history and even our recent history with both Trump and Biden
@Hoodat
Trump lives rent-free in your head 24/7,doesn't he?
Rude Orange Man is skeery,huh?
@Hoodat

I would like to hear what RDS means by “reigning in the Fed.” Hopefully it means something different than Obama and Trump
Remind me who was the idiot President who put Jerome Powell in charge? Powell has implemented by far the loosest monetary policy in the entire history of the Federal Reserve.
Trump?He walked into that one :silly:
For heaven's sake, give your senile debating skills a rest. I posted Trump's economic plans months ago.
You were the one who called him a "conniving cretin".
@Hoodat

@Right_in_Virginia
You specifically said "federal budget". So what is Trump's proposal for the federal budget? And before you post another lie about posting it months ago, let me help you out with what the official Trump Campaign website says. In short, he doesn't have one. No mention of the federal budget. Only more proposals for additional federal spending and higher costs for American consumers.
So don't you find it egregiously hypocritical to snidely ask about DeSantis' proposals on the federal budget when you clearly don't care anything about your own preferred candidate having his own "federal budget" proposal?
To hell with budgets
There’s money to be handed out to his supporters. Who cares about the economic consequences as long as his base get the checks
My favorite of all, is the Tumpers just can't explain away Trump's Freedom City initiatives that from best account will add somewhere in the $15T in additional debt. I've heard whoppers like, "It's campaign rhetoric, he didn't mean it", or "It's just to energize his base". The absolute truth is that have no defense.... And they damned well know it.
@Hoodat
"@GtHawk
Insults is all anybody that supports that conniving cretin deserves."
"That conniving cretin" that "only deserves insults" that I was CLEARLY referring to is DeSanctimonious,but you knew that and created a lie to cover your previous lie,didn't you?
Uh, no. The discussion you responded to was about Donald Trump. DeSantis' name wasn't mentioned.It's hilarious that it's so confusing when he says "conniving cretin" because that makes me immediately think of Trump :silly: :silly: :silly:
Uh, no. The discussion you responded to was about Donald Trump. DeSantis' name wasn't mentioned.

I don't hate the Man, I'm above the concept of hate.
But if he loses the Election because 50% of his support dropped out upon his 'CONVICTED OF A FELONY', just 1 of 95, that leaves the GOP exactly where the dems wanted US.

He doesn’t like Donald Trump. We all know that’s bullshit but if he likes Donald Trump that’s OK. But don’t tell people that he doesn’t like Trump, but then every time someone’s critical of Trump attack that person on a personal level.
I don't hate the Man, I'm above the concept of hate.
QuoteBut if he loses the Election because 50% of his support dropped out upon his 'CONVICTED OF A FELONY', just 1 of 95, that leaves the GOP exactly where the dems wanted US.
Just HOW would that be Trump's fault? After all,the Dims aren't done yet trying to dig up more bogus charges to keep him from being elected.
Trump is the ONLY candidate that scares the hell out of the Dims,yet you people act like he is a direct descendant of Satan.
QuoteThank you Trumpers and don't let me forget, for screwing US out of 7 years of President Cruz.
Really? WHEN did Cruz announce he was going to be running?
He is the only potential candidate that I can MAYBE see me voting for instead of Trump.
@Is this a Presidential election,or picking "besties" for a kindergarten party?
How freaking old ARE you people?
The goal here SHOULD be to try to get a candidate elected who will try to save America from the globalists,not pick a boyfriend for your sister.
Grow the bleep UP!
Very defensive you are. We obviously hit a nerve.
@LMAO
As usual,you are as clueless as Biden.QuoteWhen anyone makes fun of Trump, your reaction is to go after that person.
Duhhhh! You are "making fun" of the ONLY candidate that will stand up to the left and the mushy moderates,and having hissy fits when anyone makes similar remarks about the losers you love.QuoteThat similar to a girl who defends her boyfriend. That’s why you’re so threatened of Ron DeSantis being in the race.
AMERICA and free people everywhere are threatened by the mere fact that poser is even running for the office of President,yet you the rest of the DeSanctimonious groupies practically have orgasms every time he appears in publicQuoteThere was a while that you thought he would make a good vice president or a good follow up after Donald Trump. It wasn’t until Donald Trump told you he was bad that you changed your mind.
No,what made me change my mind about him was learning more about him,including how he stabbed Trump in the back in a vain effort to run for President.QuoteAnd since you can never really define what saving America looks like, it appears your choices purely emotional
I sincerely hope you were looking into a mirror when you typed that.QuoteDid Trump save America when he was president?
No,and he won't "save America" this time if he gets elected. NOBODY can do that in just 4 short years. He CAN,and I think he WILL do everything he can do to get things rolling in that direction,though. He ego demands that for the history books.
ALL Trump can do is try to get America set on the road towards recovery by whoever follows him after 4 years.Quote
And what you define as saving America is different than another voter’s definition
That's true.
lol…
Donald Trump did not stand up to the left. He may have sent out some nasty tweets about them. But when it came to the likes of Schumer and Pelosi, he folded

It is a waste of time trying to reason with groupies,so I am mostly going to allow you to rant and expose yourselves for the fools that you are.
That's right... set all the theater aside and look where the rubber hits the road. You will find it to be true.
Duhhhh! You are "making fun" of the ONLY candidate that will stand up to the left
You mean 'stand with the left'.
What DeSantis is doing here is the exact remedy that’s needed on the federal level. Even if Congress fights spending cuts and overrides Presidental vetoes, it’s a fight that’s necessary. I can’t find anywhere were a country devaluing its currency didn’t lead to inflation.
MAGAs can’t lay claim to this. Their guy helped blow up the budget and money supply. Biden’s budget deficits are approaching $2 trillion. That’s the deficit. MAGA can’t attack this low hanging fruit because of what their guy did.
You mean 'stand with the left'.
I will be voting for Ron DeSantis in the primary
Should by some miracle he wins the GOP nomination, I would like to hear a lot more emphasis on the size of government and fiscal and monetary policy and how it’s tied into loss of freedom and lower standard of living and less on woke politics
*FACTS*
...and you'll get no challenge... but someone will be along soon to tell you you're a poopeyhead.
:laugh: :beer:
I don't think it will happen that way... Though I do believe he thinks that way, as this OP indicates.
But he's a woke bulldog, and I think he's gonna worry that bone. Which suits me fine, because that's the same thing in the end...
We'll have to see if he can walk and chew gum at the same time. happy77
