The Iranian foreign minister warned of “uncontrollable consequences” for the U.S. if its backing of Israel’s war against Hamas in Gaza continues to expand.
“I say frankly to the American statemen who are now managing the genocide in Palestine that we do not welcome the expansion of the war in the region,” Foreign Minister Hossein Amir-Abdollahian said in a United Nations address. “But I warn, if the genocide in Gaza continues, they will not be spared from this fire. It is our home and West Asia is our region.”
The war in Gaza began earlier this month after Hamas launched a surprise attack on Israeli towns, killing more than 1,400 people. Responding Israeli airstrikes have killed more than 6,700 Palestinians, according to the Hamas-run Gaza Health Ministry.
Iran has long been an ally of Hamas, supplying it with money, military training and weapons. The militant group is considered a terrorist organization in the U.S. and European Union.
At the start of the conflict, Hamas took about 200 people hostage, mostly Israeli civilians. Amir-Abdollahian said Hamas is ready to release those hostages and called on members to also support the freeing of about 6,000 Palestinians held in Israeli prisons.

Approximately 900 troops stationed in the US are now deploying to the Middle East in response to the Hamas-Israel conflict and the continued attacks by Iran-backed terrorist groups on American forces in Iraq and Syria, Pentagon spokesman Air Force Gen. Patrick Ryder said Thursday.
The troops had previously been placed on "prepare to deploy" orders. They include a Terminal High Altitude Area Defense battery from Fort Bliss, Texas, Patriot batteries from Fort Sill, Okla., Patriot and Avenger batteries from Fort Liberty, N.C. and "associated air-defense headquarters elements" from Fort Bliss and Fort Cavazos, Texas.
Ryder did not say where in the Middle East the troops will be deployed, but said they will not be sent into Israel.

Dorian, a 24-year-old protester at the pro-Palestine rally holding a sign reading “Zionism is terrorism” said the Oct. 7 massacre in Israel was justified.
Marching along Eastern Parkway, Dorian, 24 chanted "Free, free Palestine" while explaining that he believed Hamas was in the right to slaughter over 1,400 civilians in the Jewish state.
“Freedom by any means, land back by any means,” the 24-year-old Queens resident told The Post.
“I believe the settler state of Israel must be taken down," he added. I don’t think all Israelis are guilty but I think they are all taking part in a major genocide by allowing the murder of Palestinians."
Other protesters proceeding along Eastern Parkway, many clad in keffiyehs, pounded on drums belted viciously anti-Israel chants.
“One, two, three, four, occupation no more. Five, six, seven, eight, Israel is a terrorist state,” the crowd cheered.

Thousands of people have broken into and ransacked several aid warehouses and distribution centers storing essential survival items in the southern area of the Gaza Strip, the United Nations Agency for Palestinian Refugees revealed Sunday.
“This is a worrying sign that civil order is starting to break down after three weeks of war and a tight siege on Gaza. People are scared, frustrated and desperate,” said Thomas White, Director of UNRWA Affairs in the Gaza Strip.
One of the warehouses is where the UN stores supplies from the humanitarian convoys from Egypt.
“Tensions and fear are made worse by the cuts in the phones and internet communication lines. They feel that they are on their own, cut off from their families inside Gaza and the rest of the world,” White said.
Since the convoys began entering Gaza, just over 80 aid trucks have entered the enclave.
“Supplies on the market are running out while the humanitarian aid coming into the Gaza Strip on trucks from Egypt is insufficient. The needs of the communities are immense, if only for basic survival, while the aid we receive is meager and inconsistent,” added White.

Gee, no bias there. Are we to believe that Palestinians are the poster children of civility, and that it is only because of the Jews that are turning into looters? I distinctly remember the day when Israel handed Gaza over to the Palestinians, allowing them to rule themselves. The first thing they did was to take possession of a giant water farm that the Israelis had built and loot it of everything of value. It was completely destroyed within hours and stands as a graveyard instead of a remarkable gift that Israel had created for them. Don't look for logic or reason here. You won't find it.

A US Marines assault ship is reportedly rushing to the eastern Mediterranean, as fears grow that the war between Israel and Hamas could explode into a regional conflict.
The USS Bataan, carrying the 26th Marine Expeditionary Unit, began making its way toward the Suez Canal late last week after being stationed off the Middle East, a pair of military officials told CNN.
At least two US aircraft carriers and their supporting warships are already stationed in the eastern Mediterranean in response to Hamas' October 7 attack on Israel, which left at least 1,400 civilians dead.
The USS Bataan is still sailing through the Red Sea, but is expected to arrive off the coast of Israel any day now, the sources said.

In addition to mounting amphibious assaults, Marine Expeditionary Units are sometimes used to conduct civilian evacuations.
Last week, White House National Security Council spokesman John Kirby said “prudent contingency planning” was underway to prepare for the possibility of evacuating Americans from the region.
“It would be imprudent and irresponsible if we didn’t have folks thinking through a broad range of contingencies and possibilities,” Kirby said, adding there were no “active efforts” to evacuate Americans en-masse at the time.
Those comments came shortly after Israeli officials reportedly agreed to delay their ground invasion of Gaza in response to pleas from President Biden to allow more time for hostages to be released.

Israel’s United Nations ambassador displayed a yellow star on his chest Monday as he addressed the Security Council, provocatively pledging to wear the badge until members of the body condemn Hamas “atrocities,” in a move quickly disavowed by the head of Israel’s Yad Vashem Holocaust memorial.
“Some of you have learned nothing in the past 80 years. Some of you have forgotten why this body was established,” envoy Gilad Erdan said, as he denounced the Security Council for “staying silent” over the unprecedented deadly attacks by Hamas Palestinian militants against Israel on October 7.
The deeply divided 15-member council has not adopted a single resolution on the three-week-long war between Israel and Hamas, angering both Israeli and Palestinian officials.
"So, I will remind you. From this day on, each time you look at me you will remember what staying silent in the face of evil means,” Erdan said.
“Just like my grandparents, and the grandparents of millions of Jews, from now on my team and I will wear yellow stars,” he said, standing up to affix one on the breast of his suit inscribed with the words “Never Again,” in reference to the yellow stars Jews were forced to wear by the Nazis.
The stunt was quickly called out by Yad Vashem Holocaust Museum director Dani Dayan, who said it “dishonors both the victims of the Holocaust and the State of Israel.”
"The yellow patch symbolizes the helplessness of the Jewish people and being at the mercy of others. Today we have an independent country and a strong army,” Dayan posted on X, formerly known as Twitter.
“We are masters of our destiny. Today we place a blue-white flag on the lapel, not a yellow patch,” Dayan added.

US Secretary of State Antony Blinken said Tuesday that a “revitalized” Palestinian Authority should retake control of Gaza if Israel succeeds in its goal of toppling Hamas, but that regional partners and international agencies could play an interim role.
The comments by Blinken during testimony before the Senate Appropriations Committee marked the first time the Biden administration has publicly declared its desire for the PA to return to the Gaza Strip, after privately raising the idea with regional partners since the outbreak of the Israel-Hamas war.
Hours after the hearing — which included repeated interruptions by several dozen of far-left protesters calling for a ceasefire — an Israeli official confirmed to The Times of Israel that Blinken will arrive in Tel Aviv on Friday for his second visit since the Hamas terror group launched its deadly shock assault over three weeks ago.
“At some point, what would make the most sense would be for an effective and revitalized Palestinian Authority to have governance and ultimately security responsibility for Gaza,” Blinken told the Senate hearing.
Hamas ousted the PA from Gaza in 2007 following bloody fighting, a year after winning a plurality of the vote in Palestinian legislative elections.

Jordan recalls ambassador from Israel to protest carnage in war with Hamas
Jordan recalled its ambassador to Israel on Wednesday in protest of the “humanitarian catastrophe” in the Gaza Strip and the mounting civilian death toll in Israel’s war against Hamas.
Foreign Minister Ayman Al-Safadi told envoy Rasan al-Majali to return to Amman “as an expression of Jordan’s position of rejection and condemnation of the raging Israeli war on Gaza, which is killing innocent people and causing an unprecedented humanitarian catastrophe,” according to a statement released by Jordan’s Foreign Ministry.
Jordan also asked Israel’s Foreign Ministry to tell Ambassador Rogel Rachman, who was temporarily called back to Israel because of security threats in Jordan, not to return to Amman.

Israeli Minister of Defense Yoav Gallant released a statement on civilian losses in Gaza amid the Israeli military's war against Hamas terrorists.
The statement was released as the Israel Defense Forces (IDF) continues airstriking the Jabalia refugee camp for the second day in a row, killing an unknown number of Palestinians.
"The IDF is advancing on the way to defeating Hamas," the official said. "War has a heavy price, I share in the sorrow of the families who lost their loved ones in the hard battles in Gaza City."
In the press release, Gallant also referenced Israel's determination to secure victory over Hamas.
"We are determined to win. The enemy has only two options: die or surrender unconditionally - there is no third option," the statement read. "The arena of the war is wider, we are on the attack in the Gaza Strip area, but we are defending in the north and are prepared in additional fronts."

Hamas official Moussa Abu Marzouk was asked why the terrorist group built miles of underground tunnels but not bomb shelters to protect the civilians of Gaza in an interview on Russia Today television network that aired October 27.
Marzouk said the tunnels were to protect the lives of Hamas terrorists, and that they used the underground labyrinth to conduct terrorist attacks.
“We built the tunnels because we have no other way of protecting ourselves from being killed in airstrikes," Marzouk said.
"We are fighting from inside the tunnels,” he added.
The terror head said that the protection of the Gaza civilian population was the responsibility of the UN and "the occupation" and not Hamas, which has ruled over the Gaza Strip for more than a decade.
That is just pitiful. I think that these unwitting people being used as they are is horrendous. But it seems to me that it happens in almost every war. The civilians become the military force or military protection.
Antony Blinken Can’t Guarantee U.S. Aid to Gaza Won’t Go to Hamas: ‘There Will Inevitably Be Some Spillage’

Secretary of State Antony Blinken told the Senate Appropriations Committee on Tuesday there was no way to guarantee that some of the U.S. aid sent to Gaza would not be seized by Hamas terrorists, who are also the elected government of the territory.
“Can I promise you in this committee that there’ll be 100 percent delivery to the designated recipients? No, there will inevitably be some spillage,” Blinken said.
“We haven’t seen it to date, but I think we have to anticipate that,” he continued. “But the overwhelming, overwhelming majority of the assistance thus far is getting to people who need it. And we need more.”
He told the Senate:
Before the conflict in Gaza, before Hamas’s aggression against Israel and its response, the U.N. and other agencies and other organizations providing relief were sending in between 500 and 800 trucks a day. Right now, we’re up to almost 60. We’re trying to get to 100 this week.
Blinken claimed the Biden administration has worked with Israel, Egypt, U.N. agencies, and “other actors” to ensure humanitarian aid would reach Palestinian civilians without falling into the hands of “people who don’t need it,” presumably including Hamas.

Context: The Imam Hossein Division is Iran's elite force in Syria, an estimated 5,000 foreign fighters armed with drones & missiles. This has the potential to expand the fighting and trigger serious Israeli military action.
There is no need for that. From what I am reading, Israel identifies the openings of the tunnels through intelligence maps and on the ground investigation, and then simply seals them closed and walks away. Whatever people and equipment are in those tunnels are now inaccessible and out the warfare arena.
