On September 7, Margaret Marsilla called Joshua Tepper, the doctor who planned to kill her son.
Marsilla is 46, and she lives outside Toronto with her husband and daughter, a nursing student. She had known that her 23-year-old son, Kiano Vafaeian, was depressed—he was diabetic and had lost his vision in one eye, and he didn’t have a job or girlfriend or much of a future ...
That was when Marsilla learned that Kiano had applied and, in late July, been approved for “medical assistance in dying,” aka MAiD, aka assisted suicide. ...
Victoria, 21, was a third-year engineering student from LaSalle, Ontario, on the other side of the river from Detroit. She suffered from epilepsy—including frequent seizures—and she had anemia, and she was getting three or four iron infusions intravenously every week. She also took care of her mother, Joan, 53, who was battling ovarian cancer and had been confined to a wheelchair by Guillain-Barré syndrome, a neuromuscular disease.
Both women received disability support from the provincial government, in Toronto—that brought in $1,361 every month. After paying rent and utilities, they usually had a little more than $70 to pay for food.
Sometimes, people would send them groceries or other essentials via Amazon Wishlist; sometimes, they’d get some canned goods at local food banks. Often, they’d get by on only one meal a day.
In May, Victoria took a hard look at their budget. They couldn’t go on like this for long. “Mom,” Joan recalled Victoria telling her, “I don’t think we can survive. We have to apply for MAiD.” ...

We had a well known local petroleum engineer that developed brain cancer and didn't have long to live, so he shot himself to save himself from a horrible death and to save his family the suffering. I don't condone it, but I do somewhat understand it.
My father suffered an aortic aneurism so was rushed to surgery, where he had a stroke that left him a vegetable. Mercifully he had medical directives so we didn't have to make the decision to basically let him starve, dehydrate to death. It was absolutely horrible...

Those certainly are difficult situations, but Canada is proposing killing people with nothing more than stress over being able to pay bills. :shrug:

I think there’s more to the story. I don’t think finances is the only reason to want to die here. I bet most of the people here are chronically ill, or are people who struggle with mental Illnesses.

The liberal lunacy results in people dying, whether is is Soviet USSR, present day Putin's Russia, Comunist China, or socialist Canada. Murder the unborn, and now murder those that have any reason not to want to struggle to live another day. This is Trudeau's Canada! Soon to be Biden's America.
As long as we have fixed electronic elections, our republic is dead. No republic, we are wide open for totalitarian rule like Russia or China. It would take one year to implement and have in place, and the American people are too complacent to fight or resist such a takeover. Biden has even stated he has F15s to fight Americans. I listen to that speech in total disbelief that this corrupt criminal maggot got away with saying it, and not one media puke said a word. Not one!

I have not heard that, but I have absolutely no reason to doubt that he said it and meant it.

But let's get down to brass tacks - somewhere, sometime they are going to slip some quiet provision in the law that will get outside, non-related people make these decisions without consent. Then it's going to just expand and expand until the govt is killing people wholesale with full throated media cheering.
