Mexican Chamber of Industry Board Member Thor Salayandia said the delays so far have cost the border industry $130 million to $135 million. That includes overtime pay for drivers, unfulfilled deliveries, and additional warehousing costs.

Cry me a river! That's not even a drop on the bucket to what illegals from Mexico and other countries flooding across the border have cost Americans, and that's not even considering the upheaval of our society, illegal voting and drugs. GFY Thor and KMA!

Trump Gives the Response America Really Needs to Terrorists on Campus
Katie Pavlich
~2 minutes

After being missing in action for a week while pro-Hamas terrorists took over college campuses across the country, President Joe Biden finally made a statement on the chaos from the White House on Thursday morning.

During his remarks, Biden couldn't help but mention Islamaphobia as Jewish students continue to be the targets of the left's latest anti-American movement.

After being dragged for burying previous comments in his written Passover statement, Biden finally speaks on the pro-Hamas demonstrations taking over college campuses across the country:

"Let me be clear...violent protest is not protected, peaceful protest is...vandalism,… pic.twitter.com/usFLgA0TOX

After making the statement, Biden made his way back to Delaware for another campaign event.

In stark contrast, former President Donald Trump didn't mince words with his own response.

"This is radical left lunatics and and they have got to be stopped now," Trump said in New York City this week. "We won't let the radical left morons take over this country."

Report: 'Operation Hide Joe Biden' Takes a Troubling Turn After Pathetic Speech on Pro-Hamas Protests
By Sister Toldjah | 6:53 PM on May 02, 2024

As we've previously documented, the Biden White House has employed a new strategy in recent weeks designed to make the way President Joe Biden shuffles when he walks across the South Lawn a little less noticeable to the public.

It's what I call "Operation Hide Joe Biden," and up until Thursday, the hiding consisted of his handlers swarming him as he either walked towards or away from Marine One, making it harder for him to be visible and in some instances effectively making it impossible to see him.

"Some Biden advisers have told Axios they're concerned that videos of Biden walking and shuffling alone — especially across the grass — have highlighted his age" and mobility challenges, Axios reported on Friday, while also mentioning that it was Biden himself who "suggested that they walk with him."

This strategy, as some of my RedState colleagues have also noted, has another benefit for Biden in that it also helps in shielding him from media scrutiny, which he gets so little of as it is.

No, it doesn't. Without knowing all the details, it sounds like a reasoned response after pets were killed. Why were the dogs able to get to the ducks?

I guess I don't see the difference between the pound and the owner doing it.

SMALL OCEAN, BIG HYPE: ARCTIC MYTHS AND REALITIES
REBECCA PINCUS
MAY 3, 2024

Editor’s Note: This is the first part of a short series examining maritime geography and strategic challenges in specific bodies of water, ranging from the Arctic Ocean to the Gulf of Guinea and the South China Sea.

The Arctic Ocean may be the world’s smallest but it looms large in the imagination. Remote and unique, the Arctic is, for some at least, the most romanticized ocean in the world. It has been fueling legends and ambitions for centuries, and continues to fuel new geopolitical myths today.

Global dynamics, from climate change to the decline of American hegemony and technological revolution, are reshaping the Arctic. Unfortunately, mythmaking about the Arctic continues to distort the narratives available to both public and elite audiences. Heather Exner-Pirot beautifully explains how easy this can be and, as Josh Tallis has written, the phantom of Arctic misgovernance can be used to raise alarm about an unusual gap in Arctic security governance. In reality, though, the Arctic is profoundly normal.

The following is an effort to disassemble the leading myths about the Arctic Ocean and to underscore nuggets of truth underlying the legends. The natural tendency, noted above, for people to process their understanding of the Arctic through the most dramatic filter possible, is not easy to counteract by listing mundane realities. But falling for the hype is not a good way to make policy. Refuting these myths can put the focus back on more mundane, but ultimately more valuable, solutions.

Bidenite lies, statistics, and reality
By Jack Hellner

Most of the media, Joe Biden, his administration, and other Democrats seem to live in an alternate reality.

We are constantly told that Biden inherited an economic disaster and his great economic policies have turned the economy around—the reality is that he inherited a rapidly growing economy with inflation below two percent, and his policies have decimated the purchasing power of most Americans, resulting in an economic disaster. A huge percentage of Americans are digging into savings, running up credit card debt, and falling behind on their loans, just to pay ordinary bills. Few young people can afford to buy a house in today’s market.

We are told that Biden’s policies have brought inflation under control—the reality suggests that is not true. There is no way that inflation for the poor and middle classes, for necessities like food, energy, utilities, housing, repairs, and insurance is down to around 3% like the regime claims.

We are told that inflation since Biden has been elected is around 20%, but that seems low with food up over 35%, and energy prices, which affect everything, up over 59%. Crude oil is up around 100%, and it is used in over 6,000 products.

The Biden administration announced on Friday morning that it is expanding health-care access for a select group of illegal immigrants brought to the country as children.

Illegal immigrants enrolled in the Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals program will be granted access to health insurance under the Affordable Care Act, according to the White House. DACA members, sometimes referred to as “Dreamers,” will be able to apply for healthcare coverage on healthcare.gov and state level insurance marketplaces beginning in November.

“I’m proud of the contributions of Dreamers to our country and committed to providing Dreamers the support they need to succeed,” President Joe Biden said in a prepared statement. “And that’s why today we are taking this historic step to ensure that DACA recipients have the same access to health care through the Affordable Care Act as their neighbors.”

Biden was vice president when then-president Barack Obama created DACA through executive order over a decade ago. The program gives deportation protections and work visas to illegal immigrants who were brought to the U.S. as children. An estimated 580,000 people are enrolled in the program. Former president Donald Trump failed to put an end to DACA during his term and the program continues to be fought in court.
