Walker cites mental health battle in new ad amid fallout from allegations
by Julia Mueller - 10/05/22 4:42 PM ET

Georgia Republican Senate nominee Herschel Walker discusses his past battle with mental health in an ad released Wednesday amid fallout over allegations that the GOP candidate paid for a former girlfriend’s abortion.

“As everyone knows, I had a real battle with mental health. I even wrote a book about it. And by the grace of God, I’ve overcome it,” Walker says in the ad, referencing his 2008 memoir “Breaking Free: My Life with Dissociative Identity Disorder.”

The former football star was diagnosed with dissociative identity disorder “as a result of trauma he experienced in childhood,” according to his campaign site.

The ad released Wednesday is Walker’s first since The Daily Beast reported earlier this week that Walker, who has campaigned as an opponent of abortion, encouraged a then-girlfriend to get an abortion in 2009 and reimbursed her.

The Hill has not independently verified the report, and the Senate candidate has vehemently denied the allegations.

In the new ad, called “Grace,” Walker knocks his Democratic opponent, Sen. Raphael Warnock, accusing him of “running a nasty, dishonest campaign” and asserting that the Democrat “doesn’t even believe in redemption.” Walker concludes by saying he has been “saved by grace.”

Walker, who is running on a “conservative family values” platform that is “pro-life and pro-family,” dropped behind Warnock in an InsiderAdvantage-Fox 5 poll conducted a day after the allegations were published, stoking Republicans’ concerns about the already tight Georgia race.

The Republican Party has closed rank to defend Walker after the report, while accusing the media of stirring the pot five weeks out from the election.

Former President Trump issued a statement Tuesday saying Walker “is being slandered and maligned by the Fake News Media and obviously, the Democrats.”

Herschel Walker's son launches another attack on father after secret abortion claim
by Cami Mondeaux, Breaking News Reporter |
October 06, 2022 08:42 AM

Christian Walker, the son of Georgia GOP Senate candidate Herschel Walker, has fired off the latest attack on his father amid allegations that he paid for a woman to have an abortion after the pair conceived a child while dating in 2009.

Herschel Walker has continued to deny the reports, arguing he doesn’t know the woman who says she was paid to have the procedure. However, the woman fired back, telling the Daily Beast on Wednesday that the pair had another child together, prompting Christian Walker to offer his latest criticism toward his father.

“Wear a condom, damn,” Christian Walker said in a tweet.

Christian Walker has unleashed a number of tweets to his thousands of followers in the days following the initial report, accusing his father of “lying and making a mockery” of him and his mother.

Herschel Walker, who hopes to unseat Sen. Raphael Warnock (D-GA) in November, denied the report and has vowed to sue the Daily Beast, which originally published the abortion story. Although the outlet did not name the woman, it reported that Herschel Walker knew her despite his claims that he didn’t.

This prompted the woman, still under anonymity, to speak with the outlet again, claiming she is the mother of one of Herschel Walker’s three sons who he has previously acknowledged having out of wedlock.

Exclusive – ‘Herschel Will Win’: Tom Cotton to Rally with Walker Against Democrat Warnock in Georgia

Sen. Tom Cotton (R-AR) is not backing down from supporting the GOP nominee for U.S. Senate in Georgia, retired NFL star running back Herschel Walker, in the wake of media attacks on the candidate.

In fact, Cotton is doubling down in his support: The senator confirmed to Breitbart News on Thursday that next week he will hit the campaign trail in Georgia to hold a rally with Walker just weeks ahead of the Nov. 8 general election where Walker faces Democrat incumbent Sen. Raphael Warnock (D-GA).

“Hershel Walker will be a champion for Georgia,” Cotton told Breitbart News. “He’ll vote to keep violent criminals in jail, for lower gas prices, and to stop Biden’s inflationary policies. I’m all in to help Hershel Walker get to the Senate so he can fight for Georgia.”

Herschel Walker Down 12 Points In Latest Georgia Senate Poll

Arjun Singh
Contributor
October 06, 2022 1:44 PM ET

Republican Senate candidate Herschel Walker trails incumbent Democratic Sen. Raphael Warnock of Georgia by double digits amidst a scandal over him allegedly paying for an ex-girlfriend’s abortion, per a new poll released on Wednesday.

Walker polled 38% support compared to 50% for Warnock, according to SurveyUSA, which conducted the poll for 11Alive News in Atlanta. Should Warnock gain even one vote more than 50% in November’s election, it would be enough to beat Walker outright and avoid a runoff election against him later in the year.

Walker has faced heavy scrutiny this week after The Daily Beast published a story about a woman who claims that Walker persuaded her to abort a pregnancy they conceived in 2009. During the ongoing campaign, Walker has called himself “100% pro-life” with no exceptions.

The poll was conducted between Sept. 30 and Oct. 4, with The Beast’s story being published on Oct. 3.

The story referred to a card sent to the woman that Walker had allegedly signed and a $575 receipt from the abortion clinic, which was not published. The Beast later reported that Walker had fathered a child with the woman, though Walker has denied both allegations.

“This is a flat-out lie – and I deny this in the strongest possible terms,” wrote Walker on Twitter, calling the story the “latest Democrat attack.” He accused the story’s author, Roger Sollenberger, of having “obsessively attacked my family.”

New York Times columnist calls Herschel Walker's son a 'nasty piece of work'
Columnist Charles Blow said if Christian Walker was 'truly offended by lies' he would have denounced former President Trump

By Joe Silverstein | Fox News

New York Times columnist Charles Blow penned a Wednesday column calling Christian Walker, son of Georgia Republican Senate nominee Herschel Walker, a "nasty piece of work."

The column, titled "Herschel Walker’s Son Is No Hero," lambasted the 23-year-old Walker and argued that he should not be held in high regard by the public.

"This week, Herschel Walker’s 23-year-old son, Christian Walker, took a starring role in the elder Walker’s Georgia Senate campaign — to burn it to the ground," Blow wrote.

Blow described football legend Herschel Walker as "the anti-Colin Kaepernick" and insulted his intelligence.

"A Black football player who wouldn’t resist but acquiesce, one who wouldn’t campaign for Black lives but against them, one who wasn’t articulate and principled but unintelligible and fraudulent," he wrote. "Herschel helped give cover for Trump’s racism in the heat of his re-election bid, so Trump rewarded him by supporting him for Senate."

Earlier this week, a report alleged that in 2009, Herschel Walker pushed for a former girlfriend to get an abortion after she became pregnant while they were dating. The Daily Beast report also said he reimbursed her $700 for the procedure, with the former girlfriend claiming she has a bank receipt and a "get well" card from Walker. Walker denied the report in an interview on Fox News.

"It is a flat-out lie, and now you know how important this seat is," Walker said on Fox News’ "Hannity" on Monday night.

Shortly after the report, Herschel's son Christian blasted his father on social media.

"I know my mom and I would really appreciate if my father Herschel Walker stopped lying and making a mockery of us," Christian Walker tweeted. "You’re not a ‘family man’ when you left us to bang a bunch of women, threatened to kill us, and had us move over 6 times in 6 months running from your violence."

Christian Walker continued to comment on the matter by accusing his father of lying and living a "life of destroying other people's lives."

Woman at center of Walker controversy says he urged her to have second abortion
by Jared Gans - 10/07/22 5:55 PM ET

The woman who has said that Republican Georgia Senate candidate Herschel Walker reimbursed her for an abortion she had in 2009 told The New York Times that Walker also urged her to get a second abortion two years later.

The Times reported Friday that the woman, who remained anonymous, said she decided to go through with the pregnancy, and that Walker has barely been involved in her son’s life.

The Daily Beast reported on Monday that Walker reimbursed his then-girlfriend for an abortion, and the woman provided receipts for the procedure she received, the check Walker wrote and a get-well card he sent.

The outlet later reported that the woman became the mother of one of Walker’s children after she had a child they conceived years later. The woman told the Daily Beast previously that Walker had told her during the second pregnancy that it was not a “convenient” time for her to have child but elaborated to the Times that he urged her to get an abortion again.

The Times reported that they ended their relationship after she refused to get the procedure again.

The Hill has reached out to Walker’s campaign for comment.

Walker has denied the allegations and said he does not know who the woman is.

The former football star has faced accusations of hypocrisy, as he is running against Sen. Raphael Warnock (D) on a platform staunchly opposed to abortion, not supporting any exceptions for rape, incest or protecting the health of the pregnant parent.

Most polls have shown Walker and Warnock locked in a tight race, with Warnock leading by a couple points on average. The winner of the seat could be key to determining which party controls the majority in the Senate after the November midterm elections.

Texts between Hershel Walker's abortion accuser and his wife revealed
by Misty Severi, Breaking News Reporter
October 07, 2022 11:21 PMWOMAN CLAIMS HERSCHEL WALKER PUSHED HER TO GET SECOND ABO

Georgia Republican Senate hopeful Herschel Walker confirmed he knows the identity of the woman who claims the Republican paid for her abortion while their were dating more than a decade ago, after the woman texted with his wife, Julie Walker, on Friday.

The text message was the first time the woman, who is the mother of one of his four children, mentioned to him or his wife directly that she had had an abortion, Walker told NBC News. It marks the latest twist in a controversy in which Walker, who has fashioned himself as a pro-life candidate and critic of absentee fathers, that has rocked his campaign this week. Walker has denied paying for the woman's abortion since her story claiming as much went public.

“The first I knew about any of this was when some reporter asked me about an abortion. And I’m like, ‘No, that’s a lie.’ And then I was asked if I paid for an abortion, and I said No. I did not pay for an abortion,” Walker told the outlet. “I’m not saying she did or didn’t have one. I’m saying I don’t know anything about that."

The woman, who has not been publicly identified, asked Julie Walker whether she had been aware of the abortion, or that he allegedly pushed her to have a second abortion which she did not go through with two years later. The name of the living child was also not revealed.

“Did you know Herschel paid for my abortion the first time? Or that he told me it wasn’t the ‘right time’ to have [current child]?” the woman wrote in the 9:54 a.m. text message to Julie Walker.

In response, Julie Walker said the message made her sad because she knew that her husband wanted a relationship with the child and their mother.

“This message makes me incredibly sad. You know I have continually tried to bridge a better relationship between you and Herschel putting [the child] first,” Julie Walker said. "I witness everyday Herschel pray for you and [child] and everyone in our family."

Text Messages Show Woman Now Accusing Herschel Walker of Paying for Abortion Was Supportive of His Campaign Earlier This Year

The woman claiming Republican Senate candidate Herschel Walker paid for her abortion in 2009 was friendly with Walker’s wife and wished the campaign well as recently as May, text messages reveal.

Breitbart News obtained screenshots of messages from May between Walker’s accuser and the candidate’s wife, Julie.

The messages, first reported by NBC on Friday, suggest the woman, who would later go to the left-wing Daily Beast with claims against Herschel, had entirely different sentiments about his Senate bid when his campaign kicked off after the May Republican primary.

On May 24, the day Herschel, a Georgia football legend, was expected to handily win the primary, the woman texted Julie, “Good luck tonight!!! Don’t think you guys will need it, though!”

Read the exchanges below:

Julie replied, “Feeling stressed.”

The woman wrote, “Don’t be!! Just enjoy it! Praying for you guys!!”

Julie typed back, “Thank you … Herschel really LOVES our Country.”

The woman assured Julie, “He’ll do great & you will keep him focused! Proud of you guys! Wishing nothing but the best for you tonight!!”

Once Walker clinched the win, the woman texted Julie, “Congratulations!!!”

Several other messages reveal that the accuser, who the Daily Beast reported Wednesday as the mother of one of Walker’s four children, appeared to have a friendship with Julie and spoke regularly about the child.

Recent text messages between the two on Friday, reported in NBC and the Daily Beast, indicate a now-severed relationship between the two women. The woman claiming to have had the abortion, a registered Democrat, provided messages to the Daily Beast showing she asked Julie on Friday, “Did you know Herschel paid for my abortion the first time?”

“Or that he told me it wasn’t the ‘right time’ to have [redacted name]?” the woman added in reference to a New York Times report on Friday in which the woman claimed Herschel unsuccessfully urged her to abort her son in 2012.

Julie responded to the woman, “This makes me incredibly sad. You know I have continually tried to bridge a better relationship between you and Herschel putting [redacted name] first.”

Herschel, who has long been outspokenly pro-life, told NBC on Friday that the woman, “has been angry at me for years and it is very difficult. She’s a big, big advocate for abortion rights; she’s said that.”

Herschel has denied the allegation that he paid for an abortion, repeatedly calling it a “flat-out lie.”

The woman’s radical change in tune, making deeply personal claims about Herschel and their alleged abortion to both the Daily Beast and the Times as well as providing the outlets with various texts and receipts to corroborate her story, comes after the Supreme Court overturned Roe v. Wade, a monumental decision that provoked celebration from the pro-life movement and outrage from those who are pro-abortion.

The details in NBC’s report on Friday indicate the woman first became hostile toward Julie around July 7, after a report about Walker having four children surfaced in the Daily Beast in June in the immediate aftermath of the Supreme Court ruling.

The Daily Beast also waited to publish the abortion story until the first Monday in October, despite having information about it for at least several weeks. The news drop occurred at a critical time in Herschel’s competitive race against incumbent Sen. Raphael Warnock (D-GA).

The race is one of just a handful in the country that could determine which party controls the U.S. Senate next year, and polls, including one taken entirely after the Monday report, show the two candidates are in a dead heat.

Follow the money.  She either has a book deal in the works, or someone (Soros) in the demon party is paying her off.

She could have been a sleeper cell from the beginning.  It does not matter.  Walker obviously fathered a child with her. Whether he urged her to have an abortion or paid for an abortion, who knows?  It seems likely, given the circumstances.

Most Christians understand that all people live their lives in direct contradiction to the written word.  That is the point of being a Christian.  Can we love each other in spite of knowing that?

I think Walker needs to go out with his wife and do a full-tilt confession, explaining that he was trying to save his family and especially his son from humiliation.  He should point out he did nothing illegal, that his values were different then, that he has had a religious awakening, and then hope that the Christians in Georgia forgive him.

This actually may play ok with a lot of people because it does show that he has personally struggled with these issues in his life, and knows what he did was wrong. We all have done that to some extent.

WTF.

Since pretty much the same voters vote in both senate and gubernatorial races, this means you are predicting a Walker win.

Pretty bold prediction there Cotton......

Let's be totally honest here.  Morally speaking Trump wasn't much better.  There are no perfect people and no perfect candidates.  If that's what a voter is looking for, then they'll never find it.

I hate settling for the lesser of two evils...but I guess I would vote for Walker too just to keep the Senate...hypocrite...I guess I am.. :crying:

Not hypocritical Myst.  Your and our love of country knowing Warnock's extra vote could further the Pedo Joe's socialist agenda is reason enough.

Such horseshit. He’s only sorry because he got caught, otherwise we wouldn’t have just found out about this 4 weeks before the election.

Of course you are right.  That does not negate the strategy.  He would not be the first two-faced hypocrite elected to office.  Remember Gennifer Flowers?

He is a loved football hero. People will want to forgive him.

Walker and Oz was given to us by the same guy who brought the term Grabbing the P__y into the urban vernacular.

Maybe it is time to demand our leaders to adhere to a higher moral standard.

Like Benjamin Franklin and Thomas Jefferson?  Maybe King David?

How about conservatives remove the poitical target on their backs and stop the obsession with "morality" ---- which is the code word for sex and/or marriage vow?  All it does is make conservatives look foolish, lose elections and entertain our opponents.

We can fight those battles after the general election.  At this point we should be doing all we can to support our candidates. This is a binary system. Doing nothing, complaining about our candidates, voting third party or anything that does not promote our candidates helps the Democrats.

You can argue about the play calling in the huddle, but once the play is called and the ball has been hiked, you execute the play that has been called, however flawed.

We have Walker v Warnock.  Warnock is a probably a wife beater and Walker is probably a philanderer. If you are a Georgia voter and you decide to sit it out, that helps Warnock.

I hope Walker reads here, because that’s good advice.  The truth can set us free.

And there are still a few of us posting that refuse to let the media tell us who to vote for @Lando Lincoln  and BTW: ALL my voting decisions occur in the primaries. General elections are already settled for me.  You couldn't hold a gun on me and make me vote for a Democrat at ANY level.

Exactly. Any given president or candidate could be amoral within aspects of his life but still be a good president, advocate the right policies, makes good decisions in crisis situations, be counted on to do what’s in the best interest of the country.  In the normal world we don’t care what our dentist or surgeon or plumber does or believes in his personal life as long as they can expertly fix our teeth, resuscitate a failing heart and lung, or fix our toilet. I firmly believe that.

Trump PAC spending big to save Herschel Walker amid abortion allegations
By Jon Levine
October 8, 2022 3:20pm

Former President Trump is opening up his wallet to save Herschel Walker, whose Senate campaign has been reeling from allegations he paid for a woman to abort his child.

Trump endorsed the one-time NFL star early in Georgia’s GOP Senate primary and Walker’s showing next month will be a big test of the former president’s continued influence with voters.

Make American Great Again Inc., a Trump-backed Super PAC, injected $750,000 into ad spending in the Peach State in support of Walker, Politico reported Friday.

An ad for the group now airing leans heavily into culture war issues and attacks against Walker’s opponent, Sen. Raphael Warnock.

“From D-Day to drag queen story time, America has lost its way. Radical Democrats are indoctrinating our children to hate America — opening our borders and crushing working people with taxes,” the ad’s narrator says. “Raphael Warnock votes with Biden 96% of the time. Chaos at the border, crime in our neighborhoods, a collapsing economy — Biden, and Warnock did that. Take our country back.”

@mtracey

Personally, I'm more interested in Herschel Walker's views on Nuclear War than whether he paid for some lady's abortion. But nobody seems to be asking him about the former issue

Time for Walker and his wife to do a one hour Hannity interview and just clear the air.
