SACRAMENTO, Calif. (AP) — A judge on Monday preliminarily ordered California Gov. Gavin Newsom to stop issuing directives related to the coronavirus that might interfere with state law.

Sutter County Superior Court Judge Sarah Heckman tentatively ruled that one of the dozens of executive orders Newsom has issued overstepped his authority and was “an unconstitutional exercise of legislative power.”

She more broadly barred him “from exercising any power under the California Emergency Services Act which amends, alters, or changes existing statutory law or makes new statutory law or legislative policy.”

It's the second time a judge in the county has reached the same conclusion, which runs counter to other state and federal court decisions backing the governor's emergency powers. An appeals court quickly stayed the earlier order in June.

Conflicting decisions among various counties' courts pretty much guarantee this will be decided by an appeals court, if not all the way to the State Supreme Court.

Gov. Gavin Newsom's job approval rating among California voters has plummeted, driven largely by dissatisfaction over the state's response to the COVID-19 pandemic and adding fuel to a Republican-led recall campaign, according to a new poll by the UC Berkeley Institute of Governmental Studies.

I doubt if the judge limited Newsome's power to be a turd.

If the recall is successful, look for Gavin becoming a member of the Biden DC Dream Team.
Biden has staffed up bigtime on incompetent idiots, especially if they hail from the state with the biggest exodus of any in the country.

Anybody venture to guess what role he might serve?
